I was online searching for a 50inch tv and I found one at Best Buy for $179-199 depending on if you bought it before the sale expired. While I was searching for a cheaper price and smaller tv. While using google I typed in the search engine “Walmart tvs on sale” then in the sponsored section I began scrolling until I saw an image of a sponsored link for a “ VIZIO 50'' 4K Resolution HDR Smart TV, Dolby Vision HDR/HDR10+, WiFi 6 – (Renewed) priced at $78.33, free by 7/24. I clicked the link that “toylantis collect…” Upon clicking the link ??toylantiscolmectibles.shop was in the search engine and it immediately opened up a new window ??hydtcx.shop and it was a Costco Wholesale, although www.coscto.com was not in the search bar. That’s when I saw the Vizio 50inch tv for sale at $78.89. I proceeded to checkout by clicking “buy it now”. On the next page it I proceeded to enter in my address and then click proceed to payment. That is when my web browser went black and said bad url. I thought it was a mistake so I opened up another web browser and proceeded to complete the purchase then it happened again. That’s when I noticed on the page marked shipping that asked for my address. It no longer said Costco at the top of the page. It was a weird looking “C”. So that’s when I google around and went to the official Costco page to search for the same tv and it was not an option to purchase. In fact its lowest 50inch tv to purchase was a HiSense for $229. So I have multiple pictures of evidence showing how I found the link to the fake website in the search engine. I have pictures of the page where the tv was advertised. I was almost scammed if it wasn’t for my anti-virus, web blocker program(whatever you want to call it lol).
