On July 8th, I applied for a job for a company called “Base 4” to be a mail clerk on indeed. I looked them up, and found they are a legitimate company. A couple of days anfter after I got an email asking to schedule an interview, I responded. I went back to the Indeed posting and found that it had been removed, that immediately caused concern. When looking for the same job elsewhere on the web, I found it, but it was for a job in the state of Georgia and not where I live. So they essentially stole a real job posting and redrafted it to steal people’s information. A couple of days after getting the email for an interview, I got 2 back to back phone calls from an alleged “Sarah Watson” at (505)591-6949 (a New Mexico number) asking me to finalize the hiring process with a company called “BrightHaul Freight. When I looked up this number, I didn’t find it registered to anyone and I didn’t not find an active license for a trucking company by that name *huge red flag*. Shipping companies nearly always have a proof of registered business licensing with stats like accidents lawsuits, etc. that you can find pretty easily by looking up the company name. No such thing exists for this company, also to handle freight you’ll rarely just get hired, you typically have to go through a process that includes fingerprinting and a background check too, so I realized this whole thing is a scam. Now on 07/21 I received an email from a supposed James Renard ([email protected]) to interview. So this went from being a job with Base4, to BrightHaul Freight’s HR to being “HR Global World” in a matter of two weeks. So if you see any jobs from any of those companies on Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn… be aware that they are a fishing operation. Nothing severe has come from the experience, but I imagine that I’ll continue to get spammed from possible “employers” and this fake freight company BrightHaul Freight which sounds a lot like the other companies that have engaged in hiring scams/fraud, “Brighton Cargo”, “Bright Way LLC”.
