I am receiving repeated and unsolicited robocalls from a personnel claiming to be “Evelyn” or “Linda” from a mortgage or lending union, often identifying themselves as being from “West Coast Lending Union” or a similar name. These calls always include the same type of prerecorded message urging me to press 2 to speak with underwriting or call a number back to confirm pre-approved mortgage information. They also provide an opt-out option by pressing 9. I have never done business with this group, never inquired about a mortgage with them, and my number is on the National Do Not Call Registry. I consider these calls a violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). I have received this exact type of call at least 11 times, from different spoofed or rotating numbers, with the same script each time. The callback numbers used have included: • 888-919-5284 • 844-487-2090 Example Transcript of the Message: “Hi, this is Evelyn from the Lending Union’s West Coast branch. I’ve been looking over your file for funding approval, and yes, it’s almost done. We just need to confirm a couple quick things. If you’re free right now, you can press 2 to connect with me directly. Otherwise, please call me back at 844-487-2090 before 5 PM today, and we’ll wrap this up together. If you’ve already secured funding elsewhere, that’s totally fine — just let us know. If not, this approval is set to expire in the next few days. You’re more than welcome to reapply at any time. Again, to move forward, press 2 to connect with underwriting, or call us back at 888-919-5284. To opt out of future calls, press 9.” These robocalls have become disruptive and deceptive, and I would like this company investigated and stopped. I am keeping a detailed record in case further legal action is needed.
