Subject: Internet Fraud Complaint Against Custom Design Genius I am writing to formally report a case of internet-based fraud committed by a company known as Custom Design Genius. I paid this company for a premium branding package which included a trademark filing. While the logo was eventually delivered (after considerable delay), the business cards were poorly designed and had to be redone independently. Most concerning, however, is that after I paid them for the trademark service, they failed to provide any filing confirmation or official receipt. Following that, I began receiving harassing and threatening text messages, including one from a person claiming to be an attorney. These messages threatened me with lawsuits and fines of up to $500,000 if I did not immediately pay an additional $1,250 to “protect my logo.” When I contacted the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C., I was informed that no such application was filed and that this behavior is consistent with known fraudulent schemes. I have since found numerous complaints online, including on Yelp and other review platforms, from other victims describing nearly identical experiences. The company claims to operate under the name Custom Design Genius and may be based in Brooklyn, New York, although I am unsure if they are actually located in the United States. I have retained the full text message history, emails, and proof of payment, and I am more than willing to provide these materials upon request. Please investigate this matter and take the appropriate legal action to prevent further consumer harm.
