Stand for the Silent is an organization that is supposed to provide education and information to school children about the dangers of bullying. While recognized as a 501c3 by the IRS upon examination of its 2023 federal tax return on Guidestar.org (free), 75% of the organization's $20 million in annual expenses are to paid to fundraising companies. Industry standards for legitimate non profits dictate that no more than 35% of an organizations expenses should be for fundraising with high performing organizations such as Goodwill or the Red Cross spend about 25% for fundraising with the majority of expenses directed toward delivering benefits (clothing, disaster relief) to its service recipients.
