Description
I was scammed by a fake cannabis delivery service I found online: shopdispensaries.com. I placed an order online then contacted the company, as instructed, to send order total ($242) to the designated Zelle recipient. After placing an order and sending the order total, I was told via SMS to pay a $400 “refundable insurance fee” through Zelle / Apple Pay in order to receive my order. I was also asked to upload a photo of my driver’s license and provide personal info. The insurance fee link was to a fake site pretending to be a government agency: stateverifymmc.com. After I paid, the seller stopped replying and no product was delivered. This business is not licensed in D.C., and the payment method and ID request are highly suspicious. I believe they are running an organized scam. I request this be investigated and shut down. I have screenshots of the website, messages, and payment confirmation. I can provide them if needed.
