This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
The "Business Document Center" Demanded $87.25 for a "Massachusetts Certificate of Good Standing" and included our organization's Name and address. It included legitimate information about the purpose of one of the legitimate versions of this document, and provided a link to the Massachusetts.gov site about what they are for. Additionally, they provided a qr code "for faster processing" and a toll-free Number (855) 203-5959.
