Description
I was contacted for a remote "Purchasing Assistant" job opportunity by someone claiming to represent a pharmaceutical company called "ESTEVE." The interview was conducted entirely via instant messaging, with no video or phone call. I was told I was hired after a basic Q&A session and offered a high hourly rate ($55.50/hour) with full benefits. They requested personal details such as my full name, phone number, location, and the name of my bank (but not my account number). When I asked for a video call to confirm legitimacy, the interviewer avoided it. They later mentioned that work equipment would be provided, and I would be contacted again with a list of required materials. After researching further, I realized the names and branding were misused from a real pharmaceutical company (ESTEVE), and this was likely a scam to gather personal information for fraud or setup a fake cheque scheme.
