I was a patient here with the general dentist, Dr. Birmingham and the orthodontist, Dr. Slivka. They take my insurance and will also double the amount my insurance charges, I knew this because I researched each individual code and saw the amounts didn’t match up. I also called my insurance to asked if what they were doing is right, they said no it’s wrong. We filed a claim with our insurance. So not only are they committing insurance fraud, they are also doing malpractice. January of 2025, Dr. Birmingham knowingly gave the go-ahead for braces when I needed 5+ fillings and a crown (I got a second opinion, while I had braces) He didn’t really state it to us. Having the go-ahead for braces, I became Dr. Slivka’s patient. We began treatment December 2024 by putting an expander in my mouth. I had to sign a contract stating that I will pay the x amount for braces even if my insurance doesn’t cover it. Why would they not see if I’m eligible prior to presenting the contract? January 2025, I got my braces put in. February 2025, My tooth cracked from the expander, I voiced my concern and was dismissed. March 2025, Dr. Slivka recommended I get my premolars out to make room for my mouth. I was referred to a doctor in their office and she stated that I also remove my wisdom teeth. In total that’s 7 of my tooth they wanted to pull out. Once again, the total amount didn’t add up with my insurance. They wanted an extra $1k+. That’s when I decided to seek for a second opinion. April 2025, another one of my tooth cracked (that’s two of my teeth in the span of 4 months). Dr. Slivka saw it, I stated my concern and was dismissed again. I have heard from other people I know they are known to take more money than they should from their patients.
