Description
We are receiving multiple faxes with patient names asking for us to send over medical notes so they can get back braces. Request reads: Prior authorization prescription request form for back orthosis. Please send this form back in 3 business days with the pt chart notes (recent medical records) and the fax cover sheet. It goes on to list a slew of diagnosis' and states it will dispense a back brace. We are a podiatry office and don't deal with backs or back braces. They already have the patient's personal information, insurance information. I feel they are trying to scam the insurances to pay for braces that are not needed or ever ordered.
