Scammer, identifying themselves as “Miguel” from Roofing Pros texted me at 10:56 am Pacific on Sun, 6/15/25. I had sent emails or request forms to three roofing contractors on 6/14/25. I corresponded with the tester over several hours, providing a few details and determining a time when they could come to my home to inspect and measure my roof. I checked my notes and asked the texter if the business goes by multiple names, as the name did not align with any of the contractors I had contacted. Texter could not verify and would not send me the company’s website. I replied that I would not be moving forward to schedule an estimate time, and the texter sent a “Reply STOP” message. Below is the entire text thread (times redacted). [(206) 777-0611 - “Miguel”] Hi! This is Miguel from Roofing Pros. Are you still interested in a free quote and report for your roof? We'd love to help, it only takes 10-15 minutes! Regards [Me]: Miguel. Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, we're still interested. Would you make an appointment to come assess and measure the roof? [“Miguel”]: Great to hear that! Do you need a quote for a full replacement or a leak repair? [Me]: Full replacement and we'd like to add two skylights [“Miguel”]: Got it. How are you planning to pay for this project? Is it going to be out of pocket, insurance, or financing?
