Description
I recently was looking for cheap airline flights to Chicago to visit a cousin who lives there. To find the most affordable option I searched all of the major travel websites (Priceline, Kayak, Expedia, Trip Advisor, Hotwire & Orbitz). When I found the most affordable option on Kayak I completed the order. A few minutes later I received a confirmation email, but it wasn't from Kayak.com. It came from this site Tarifasodeal. I was surprised because I never heard of that site before. As I was reading through this email I noticed a section under a paragraph, "you may receive a call or an email from us within 24 hours for payment verification. In this case your e - tickets will be sent post card verification only. Since there was a phone number at the bottom of this email I called it and a random person answered. I provided the booking reference number listed at the top of the email. They advised me a rep named "Paul" would call the number I provided when placing the order, w/in the next 5 minutes. Of course that call never came. Since I was not provided a specific/direct number to reach Paul at I wasn't able to call him back. At 3:42 pm on Sunday June 8th I received a second email from [email protected]. In the second paragraph of this email it stated, "We tried reaching out to you at the given contact number. However, the call went unattended." This time I decided to call the number at the bottom of this email (1-888-539-6670) & requested to speak to Paul. Whoever answered told me that he was on another call, but will call me back when he can. I should point out that number was the same one I called initially called. After giving up that Paul was going to ever call me back I let this issue go and assume that this order would be finalized w/in the next business day, or two. Then at 4:30 pm, after almost 2 hours after I initially placed this order, I received another email from Paul. This email was exactly the same as the other one. Instead of calling him I emailed him back & asked him, "I still haven't received a phone call back from you, but what more do you need from me? If this order is not going to go through soon I might have to cancel the order." I never received a response from him again. Afterwords I checked my phone for any recently missed calls, but I didn't find any from that day. After giving it 2 business days I called this company again & asked to speak w/someone about this order. After providing them the initial booking number they advised me the order has already been completed, but won't be finalized until I speak w/a Delta assistant after I arrive at the airport the day of my flight. Of course I was still skeptical, but since I wasn't billed for this order yet I had to take his word on the next step. Of course I checked my bank account multiple times after calling again & the day I went to the airport, but thankfully I was not billed for those tickets yet. When I arrived at the airport & then went to the Delta booth I showed one of their assistants the email & wanted to confirm I was on that flight, but they said I wasn't. I advised them how I was tried to place the order on Kayak, but they said they never heard of this site before. They also assured me again that I was still not billed for these tickets yet. However when I asked if they still had any seats left on that flight they said yes, but their prices were way higher (around $800 actually). They suggested I try some other competitive airlines for cheaper flights leaving that day too. I did, but ultimately I booked through Delta. After that I had no issues making it on that flight and then taking off to my destination. After arriving back on 06/15/2025 I made sure to not only search for related scams like this, but also report my situation on here. Thankfully I was not billed by this scam website though. .
