    On or about February 25,2024 I booked a small guest room located in ******************, Oregon. It was for part of spring break taking my grandson. Checking in on March 26, and checking out March 28,2024. Upon arrival there was a house right next to the guest house there were construction trucks and lumber everywhere. When I entered to code to open the door it did not work. After a few tries a young man from Nextdoor came out and entered the code. He stated that he was the owner and was remodeling the house and would try to keep the noise down. upon entering, the room was not really what was depicted in pictures online! It was nice outside so I opened the windows but had to close them due to the hammering and pounding. I went out to get things from my car and as I stepped down the steps I had a ********* nail plunge through my flip flop and into my toe! I was very upset and by now had a horrible headache from the noise! I decided we could not stay. My grandson is autistic and loud noises upset him. I sent an email to the managing company and explained the said I should be able to get a refund but it would be up to the manager. I then received an email from said manager stating it was against policy to give a refund I tried to resolve with several communications with the same answer no!     Absolute joke! Everything in the world to complain about but ANTS ?? (you know the 6 legged insects) **** is absolutely disgusting. Not only a few an infestation! I have pictures and videos! No response from the owner or Meredith's employees. The jacuzzi didn't work *** was only notified 2 days before check in. The only reason wr stayed at this location. We could have had a location on the beach but chose this for the non-working jacuzzi. A lack of courtesy from the owner to send someone out the two days prior I am a local. I know the market and availability. With that being said we could have gotten a really great deal from friends but chose this to be nothing but disgusted! The blender only 3 burners there wasn't even trash bags thats only the beginning. ?? someone has got to stop these people from doing this. There was people staying in it right after us and you know they saw the infestation as well. What a way to ruin a trip for little girls! If the owner would have given any care about their own property I would not be writing this review! This was the 5 suites firetable house in pacific city off 4th street sleeps 11 if anyone else wants to avoid it!

We did notify you on April 4th via email that the hot tub would be inoperable for your stay; however, we failed to inform you that the owner was able to remedy the hot tub and you could have used the hot tub for your reservation. We have refunded the hot tub fee for our communication error. Regarding the cleanliness of the home - when viewing your reservation details, it does not appear we were notified of any issues until after your stay. Had we been contacted, we would have taken immediate action to rectify the situation by sending our housekeeping team to address your concerns.Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and ensuring our guests comfort are top priorities for us. We take your feedback seriously and will be addressing the issues you raised with our housekeeping team. To express our apologies and our commitment to providing you with a better experience, we have issued you a $100 *********** Credit. This credit can be used at any of Meredith Lodging homes and will allow you to enjoy a more seamless and enjoyable stay in the future.We truly value your feedback as it helps us improve our services and ensure that every guest has a positive experience.
