While it's easiest to turn to your computer and order flowers online, if they are for you or someone local, you can best ensure the quality of your arrangement by going to a local florist where you can see the flowers yourself.
Unless you are planning a big event like a wedding, you're probably looking for a flower arrangement or bouquet. Before you go to the flower shop, consider what you are looking for in your arrangement. Consider the colors you want to use, the size of the flower arrangement, the types of flowers you want to use, your budget, and anything else that will make it easier for the florist to help you get the perfect bouquet. If you are buying flowers as a gift, make sure you know if the person you are giving the flowers to has any allergies to avoid!
Before visiting a florist, look for reviews and recommendations from your friends and family, and check online reviews.
If you want flower delivery for someone who lives close to you, you can still visit the florist and choose your flowers yourself. Many florists have their own flower delivery services and delivery people. Make sure you ask if someone has to be home when the flowers are delivered and what happens if nobody is there when the delivery arrives.
If you want to send flowers outside your neighborhood, you won't be able to see the exact flowers yourself. You can find a flower shop that is local to your recipient (check BBB.org) and call the florist directly, or you can order flowers online from a nationwide flower delivery service.
Remember that demand for flowers increases during holidays, so prices may also go up. And if you leave a purchase for the last minute, you may end up paying more to make sure your gift arrives on time. Try to plan ahead to avoid stress and surcharges. Ask the florist if there are any discounts for early delivery, such as having Valentine's Day flowers delivered on February 13th. Earlier delivery before busy holidays may help ensure your flowers are as fresh as can be and delivered without delay.
After you send flowers to someone, ask them to send you a picture of what they received so you can compare it to what you bought. You should understand that florists sometimes have to make substitutions based on the availability of fresh flowers, but the size and quality of the bouquet delivered should be comparable. If there is a big difference between what you thought you were buying and what they received, you may want to call the florist and ask for an adjustment in the price you paid.

Accreditation and Ratings Overview
Select businesses earn BBB Accreditation by undergoing a thorough evaluation and upholding the BBB Accreditation Standards.
