More information
There are a lot of reasons you may be getting ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into an arts and crafts project:
- Homemade gift for a loved one
- Fixing or creating art for your home
- Relaxing hobby
- Fun for your children
- Holiday decorations
- School projects
You can buy a lot of art supplies and craft supplies online, but there is something to be said for going into a store and being able to touch and compare products. You may want to feel the quality of different paper choices, see the construction of pieces you may incorporate into a project, or check the smoothness of writing with a pen or marker. It’s also much easier to choose paint colors in person than online.
You may also find that there are a lot of seasoned crafters working in arts and crafts stores who may be able to answer questions and help you think through your projects.
Many craft stores will also have classes on things like knitting or painting. You may be able to improve your skills or learn a new one.
Depending on your project, you may consider different types of stores. Some stores are huge and carry a wide variety of supplies – everything from colored pens and markers to special sewing machines. Some stores are much more specialized and may carry only art supplies, or only yarn, or only products geared toward children.
After visiting a few art supply or craft stores, you’ll find the ones that work best for you and help you with the project you’re working on now and give you ideas for the future.

Accreditation and Ratings Overview
Select businesses earn BBB Accreditation by undergoing a thorough evaluation and upholding the BBB Accreditation Standards.
BBB assigns ratings from A+ (highest) to F (lowest). In some cases, BBB will not rate the business (indicated by an NR, or "No Rating") for reasons that include insufficient information about a business or ongoing review/update of the business's file.
