My name is ****************************** and I was a resident at **************************************************** apt 1 between September 2021-August 2022. Before moving in, a property manager by the name of ***** showed me the apartment and advised there were several maintenance issues that she would take care of right away when I move in, including a water leak in the bathtub. When this was not taken care of by June 2022, I brought it to her attention again. Instead of fixing it, or even attempting to make adjustments for me during the repair, she chose to terminate my lease. Her excuse was that the repairs would take too long. However being the only black tenant in the entire building I experienced microagression and racism. The first day she showed me the apartment she demanded to take a picture of my ID to ensure I wasnt defrauding her. She has repeatedly accused me of smoking weed in my apartment. One time I called to tell her I had Covid just to forewarn the other tenants out of courtesy and she quickly switched the subject to voice her concerns and subtly hint she wants to evict a tenant because of smoking complaints of weed smoking although Ive verbally told her I havent smoked anything and she has never seen smoking in my apartment, her lack of empathy for the fact that I had a life threatening illness was concerning but it said alot about her preconceived notions. She even accused me of opening a gate to allow thieves to steal a neighbors bike and swore she saw the theft on camera but when I spoke to that neighbor he said she told she didnt see anything on camera. Nevertheless *** moved out. However, on March 13, 2023 I accidentally zelled my rent money to ***** at ************************************ When I brought this to the attention of *****, she advised that that she wont return the money via Zelle simply because she didnt feel like it. Return all my money ASAP
