Behind Every Trusted Business Is a Story Worth Celebrating

Some businesses don’t just serve customers, they serve the community, lead with integrity, and inspire trust every day. The BBB Torch Awards shine a light on those businesses. If you know a company making a difference, we invite you to nominate them.

This award honors organizations whose leaders focus on the four C’s and measures the Character of the organization’s leadership; if and how an authentic Culture is being fostered; the company’s transparent relationship with its Customers; and the impact the organization is making in the local Community.

This award recognizes a business, less than three (3) years old, that has demonstrated success in customer service, marketing, advertising, communications, and ethical sales practices.

This award recognizes a business and its’ employees who play a significant role in support or programs and services to the Acadiana community.

Community Hero Award

This award recognizes an individual who has made substantial and noble efforts, often sacraficing oneself, for the benefit of others and/or the Acadiana communituy within the last two (2) years. 

This award recognizes a business that has an outstanding customer service program and routinely exceeds customer expectations.

Eligibility and Criteria

Torch Awards for Ethics and other BBB Awards

Open to for-profit, 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) non-profit organizations of all sizes located within BBB’s 7 parish service areas. 

  • BBB Accreditation is not required;
  • For profit and 501(c)(6) applicants must have a “B” rating with BBB;
  • 501(c)(3) non-profit applicants must complete the Charitable Standards Evaluation process and meet all BBB Standards for Charity Accountability;
  • Organizations must have been in business for three years, with the exception of the Outstanding New Business Award;
  • All financial obligations must be met;
  • Applicants are not eligible if they have received the Torch Award for Ethics or the award applying for in the past five years;
  • Government agencies are not eligible to submit an application.
The Judging Process

Entries are evaluated by the 2026 BBB Board of Directors comprised of 20 local business and community leaders. Submissions, including examples, stories, and documents should provide a robust and accurate depicition of the organizations focus on Character, Culture, Customers, and Community. Supporting documents and attachments can range from handbooks, internal documentation, or photos from events.
