BBB, Minnesota & North Dakota awards $2,500 scholarships to high school students who demonstrate integrity, leadership, and ethical decision-making. Scholarship funds may be used toward tuition or room and board expenses at any accredited post-secondary institution.
Rather than focusing primarily on grades or extracurricular activities, the BBB Scholarship is based on a written essay describing how the student demonstrated integrity while overcoming a challenge. Through this program, BBB recognizes and supports students who lead with ethics and character in their schools, workplaces, and communities.
Funding for the BBB Students of Integrity Scholarship Program is provided by the generous support of donors to Better Business Bureau Wisconsin Foundation.

Only Minnesota and North Dakota students from accredited high schools who are seniors in the 2026-2027 school year will be accepted. To qualify for the scholarship, students must:
Be a graduating senior enrolled in a Minnesota or North Dakota high school (if selected, recipients must sign an electronic affidavit verifying enrollment – provided by BBB)
Not be a BBB employee, intern, Board of Director or their family member.
Of course! Rather than focusing solely on academics, this scholarship awards students for their integrity. Students with GPAs 3.0 or higher, or those who show evidence of progress over time, are still encouraged to apply.
BBB will handle mailing the $2,500 scholarship funds directly to your college of choice. This ensures the scholarship funds are secure and fully applied to your tuition.
Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than January. Once the recipients are confirmed, we will alert non-recipients, likely before the end of January.
All 2027 scholarship applications must be submitted through the online form between September 21, 2026 and October 30, 2026. No applications will be accepted through other forms or after October 30.
Students of Integrity Scholarship applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges of local business and community leaders selected by BBB. Judging will be based mainly on the content of the essay, although future plans and goals, your reference letter, and outside activities will also be used by the judges in making their final selections.
A successful application will include several elements:
Applicant information
Essay
Extracurriculars
Post-secondary plans
Letter of recommendation
BBB is built on a foundation of trust, ethics and integrity in business. We’re looking for student leaders who not only value these principles but can demonstrate how they put them into action.
Please write an essay (1,000 words or less) describing a time when you had to earn or rebuild trust with others in a school, work or community setting. What steps did you take and what did you learn?
A successful essay will include the following:
Relevance to Prompt
Essay is clear, coherent and engaging
Concrete steps taken to earn or rebuild trust
Demonstration of Trust, Ethics & Integrity
Meaningful reflection on what was learned
The student's letter of recommendation will be considered during the judging process.
