The BBB Education Foundation works in concert with the BBB of Central and Northwest NC, managing its educational initiatives and building trust by educating consumers and businesses.
BBB was founded by companies that believed a trustworthy marketplace was good for business and worth their investment and continues to operate that way today.
BBB Education Foundation's programs are designed to build trust, celebrate ethical role models, and call out bad actors as well as offer consumer and business education programs aimed at building consumer knowledge and fostering business growth and prosperity.
BBB Education Foundation initiatives also save consumers money so they have more to spend with trustworthy businesses. In 2020, we estimate BBB Scam Tracker helped prevent consumers and businesses from losing $21 million to fraudsters. In addition, knowing about scams and scammer tactics can be a person’s best defense in successfully reducing the impact of scams. We estimate our media outreach efforts saved consumers more than $2.6 billion when news and online media sources shared our scam prevention tips.
