Apply & request funds: Eligible employees apply by completing an application, including proof of employment with a BBB Accredited Business, writing a short essay (up to 500 words) about their career choice, and requesting $50–$1,000 for specific work-related purchases.
Verification & review: BBB verifies employment with a BBB Accredited Business. Applications are reviewed by a committee of local business leaders, with decisions made fairly and without regard to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or disability.
Award decisions: Scholarships range from $50 to $1,000. Some applicants may receive partial funding based on need, number of awards, and available funds. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
Reimbursement process: Approved applicants are notified of the award amount and purpose. Funds are reimbursed only after receipts are submitted and approved, and applicants should wait for official notification before making purchases.
Must be a legal resident of Indiana in one of BBB Serving Northern Indiana's 23 counties
Must be an employee of a BBB Accredited Business
Must be 23 years of age or younger
Must be working in the trades for 12 months or less (based on application deadline)
