Why shred?

Identity theft poses a serious risk to individuals and businesses, leading to financial loss, emotional distress, and time-consuming resolutions. Shredding sensitive documents is a simple yet powerful way to protect your personal information.

What to shred

Consider shredding these documents to keep your personal information safe:
✔️ Bank statements, pay stubs, and medical bills (older than one year)
✔️ Paid utility bills (older than one month)
✔️ Pre-approved credit card or loan offers
✔️ ATM receipts
✔️ Supporting tax documents (older than seven years)

Note: Binders cannot be accepted, but staples, paper clips, CDs, and floppy disks can be shredded.

How it works

Simply join the line in the Coliseum Parking Lot. Follow the orange cones and helpful volunteers to the designated Shred Trucks. When it’s your turn, please remain inside your vehicle while Shred Day volunteers safely remove your items. Documents will be shredded onsite for added security.

Supporting a worthy cause

A $10 is requested to support the BBB’s Charitable & Educational Foundation, a 501©(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing consumer and business education. Your contribution helps BBB continue its mission of fostering a trustworthy and ethical marketplace.

BBB tips: Protect yourself from identity theft

🔹 Check your credit report: Get a free annual credit report from AnnualCreditReport.com, the only site authorized by the Federal Trade Commission.

🔹 Strengthen digital security: Use strong, unique passwords. Avoid common security questions based on personal details easily found on social media.
