Job purpose

You are Cleveland City Dance’s first impression to potential clients. We wish to achieve the friendliest and enlightening reputation in the community while offering impeccable customer service. A highly respected dance school with a primary focus on ballet has a part-time position available for a receptionist who will be the face and voice of the company. Having a background in dance is helpful!

Job description

  • Provide first-rate customer service.
  • Respond to inquiries and messages.
  • Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls.
  • Answer walk-in’s questions
  • Speak with current families including their children.
  • Assist with the registration process.
  • Process monthly tuition payments, costume fees, etc
  • Review information for errors & update as needed.
  • Maintain studio appearance.
  • Ability to work with the team including dance faculty and take initiative including resolving issues.
  • Flexible hours include nights and Saturday.
  • Shifts are in two-to-four-hour blocks.

 

Experience/skills:

  • Customer service experience including handling & resolving customer issues
  • Comfortable speaking with adults
  • Comfortable speaking with children
  • Computer savvy with a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Google Docs
  • Qualified candidates must have previous receptionist experience, must have excellent customer service.
  • Must have excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Must demonstrate high energy, a strong work ethic, ability to take the initiative, and a sense of urgency.
  • Should have a friendly personality with a professional appearance, and must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and be organized. 
  • Any candidate that has experience in the dance industry is a plus. 

 

Employment classifications

Every employee is designated as either part-time, full-time, or contract. All new and rehired employees will work on an introductory basis for the first 90 calendar days after their date of hire. If CCD determines that the designated introductory period does not allow sufficient time to thoroughly evaluate the employee’s performance, the introductory period may be extended in the company’s sole discretion for a specified period of time.

- Holidays per studio Calendar

The normal work schedule for all employees may vary over a seven-day period based on dance class scheduled times and student enrollment. Management will advise employees of the times their schedules will normally begin and end prior to the start of the academic year. Staffing needs and operational demands may necessitate variations in starting and ending times, as well as variations in the total hours that may be scheduled each day and week.
