I asked Mr. Handyman of Anne Arundel and PG counties to come by and provide me an estimate for damage that had been caused by water over flowing into our basement from a excess water pipe typically used to drain our AC, hot water heater overflow, etc. In order to have this company come out and provide an estimate, they requested $98. Given they have such high reviews, I figured they were the best in the county and agreed to pay the $98 to provide us an estimate for the work. After the initial viewing of the location needing repairs, the gentleman that came out provide me an estimate between $1700-$2200 to make the repairs. The estimate didn’t have an itemized list of how they reached the numbers. I sent the estimate to my insurance for them to let me know when I can start the repairs, only for them to contact me telling me Mr. Handyman will not speak with them, as they did not hire Mr. Handyman to provide services (I understood this piece of it). The issue is, my insurance needed them to not only provide a single number for the estimate, but also itemized list how they got their estimates. I tried helping the insurance person to understand, based on my recollection of what the professional relayed to me. She asked that I ask Mr. Handyman to provide that breakdown and why wouldn’t they just select the $1700 lowest cost to make the repairs. I agreed, as that made sense from a company’s standpoint. Immediately called Mr. Handyman to speak with the service professional who came out. He was busy, but the person who answered the call said she could assist me. I asked her to provide me an itemized list with one number on the estimate, and she said she can’t do that. I just asked, why not provide the most expensive number in your estimate so all your bases are covered and she told me that sounds like a good idea to tell your insurance (indirectly letting me know Mr. Handyman isn’t budging on providing me with an estimate I can use to get them fully hired). $98 wasted…

I have used Mr. Handyman quite a few times. The workmanship was superb. You get a photo of who is coming to your house and can follow their route to your house. Barry did a fantastic job tiling a shower for me, among lots of other things. I am a very happy customer!

Mr. Handyman did a great job repairing the Soffit on the Roof underhang at my home. I would recommend them to my family and friends and I would differently use them again.
