    Date 3//14/24 I am a heart patient, I am wearing a heart monitor, call comes in, our sister-in-law died of cancer. Funeral to be on 3/16. My husband was trying to find motel for four people, spring break is upon us. Her daughter, herself, myself and my husband. From ***** to **** her burial to be on Saturday March 16 in ********* ****. Searching online for motels near there, nothing because it is spring break. We needed from Thursday thru Saturday to stay. My monitor sticks on my chest and stomach, it reads the heart beat of my heart for any inaccuracies. Searching places to stay, came across a place called Burgundy Cabin within the ********* area. Website states cell phone coverage available, but it wasn't there as we stood outside of the cabin. Sleeping quarters with two queen ***** We arrived at Burgundy Cabin on Thursday March 14 at 3:30. It is off in the *****, we are told the door combination. My husband was going to call his brother and tell him we are here. My daughter's cell phone didn't work and my husband's cell phone didn't work. Listen up people, my monitor needs to work, it compiles and computes my heart data and sends it to my doctor. Which means red flag. We can't get any data sent because of no cell service. No emergency help several miles out in the *****. No luggage was unloaded at the cabin and we didn't stay there. We drive from the low point away from the cabin several miles. ****************** reaches us, are you okay? No reading. Pictures included of the monitor even my doctor's name. In fairness one night stay was offered. No partial payment offered. No apologizing, no credit, my willingness to pay one night was fair. Briefly the owner was talked with by my daughter and husband. This is serious for my health, paperwork was sent to them, they said not enough documentation. Evolve refuses to refund any part of our money. No one stayed, nothing needed to be clean. WE R PO.

    Bottom line upfront: if you are a homeowner looking to rent out a room or part of your home for short term rentals, do not use Evolve - they will bring in unscreened guests who violate house rules and do damage to your property, and their reimbursement policy will leave you without reimbursement for items for which you cannot provide an invoice (e.g. hours worked cleaning your own home, hours of work missed due to guest issues).Thought that using Evolve to manage my downstairs in-law unit would save me time as managing Airbnb messages can be onerous. Although many of the guests were kind, respectful, and reasonable, my last two guests were terrible and did significant damage to my home - smoke damage and human and animal waste all over the unit. The cigarette smoke damage was significant and required me to stay outside of my home for the night. When I called Evolve to terminate our agreement, and asked the to cancel all subsequent bookings as I cannot trust their ability to screen guests, they told me I would be charged cancelation fees for these bookings (Airbnb charges higher fees than us was their reasoning). I told them it seemed unfair to penalize me for making the educated decision to not allow any Evolve guests into my home based on the quality of the last two renters. They refused to bend. I will be requesting reimbursement for the smoke remediation that needs to occur, but I am not hopeful that I will receive any money back as I am cleaning by myself and dont have an invoice to share (a requirement of reimbursement as per Evolve policies).
