Overview

Businesses pay HomeAdvisor an annual membership fee and can purchase leads to connect them with project-ready homeowners.  Not every lead will turn into a job and can depend on the business’s ability to close the transaction.

HomeAdvisor is a nationwide digital home services marketplace providing homeowners with tools and resources to complete their home improvement, maintenance and repair projects. Homeowners can view average project costs and book appointments with local prescreened home professionals. Professionals must pass a background screening prior to being admitted into the network and homeowners can view ratings and reviews for HomeAdvisor-approved professionals.

HomeAdvisor also provides home professionals with lead management and marketing tools they need to manage and grow their businesses. HomeAdvisor’s apps and mobile office management tools help professionals track jobs, create invoices and collect payments. Businesses pay HomeAdvisor an annual membership fee and can purchase leads to connect them with project-ready homeowners.  Many of the disputes the BBB receives are related to the leads program. In our careful review of these disputes with Home Advisor, we agree that it’s important for businesses to understand not every lead will turn into a job and often depends on the business’s ability to close the transaction.

Home Advisor has realized significant growth in recent years, which has increased their focus on reducing the number of complaints they receive. The BBB has seen a reduction in complaints as a result. If you are not satisfied with HomeAdvisor’s service, the company requests that you contact them directly to share information about your experience. The business is dedicated to resolving complaints.
