I booked reservation directly through hotel. Was quoted a price and told an email reservation confirmation would be sent. Never received, called again and was told it would come later. Never came. I called Best Western reservations and gave them my confirm number which differs from the toll free reservation system. Once finally located, he sent to me receipt with no breakdown but a grand total price and it was about $****** more than quoted from the hotel agent directly and I was then told that is what I must pay (it was stated my word against hers). How insulting! I then spoke to customer complaint dept, they created a problem ticket and said hotel manager would contact me. Never did. I called him directly and couldn't get through. I called next day and was told hotel has phone problems, no voicemail to the manager. I spent 7 days and many hours on hold/disconnected trying to resolve the issue. Got nowhere with anyone, so I went to my Best Western account to cancel the reservation and could not. I once again had to spend more time to call customer complaint department and they said I could not retrieve the reservation since I booked at hotel. So FINALLY they cancelled my reservation, with no discussion of resolution. I have never experienced such an antiquated hotel/reservation system and it was absolutely horrible (pass the buck) customer service for 7 days with no phone call from anyone and no resolution. Ridiculous! Can you imagine if you stayed there and had a problem? I couldn't even look at the details to my bill or hotel reservation. I guess they find it ok to misquote you a lower price, book higher price, send no itemized receipt and we either take it or leave it. Horrible customer service and really Bad experience for sure!!
