We purchased a 2021 Lincoln Navigator with 10k miles on in August 2022 from Covert Ford Lincoln in ******. In October 2023, with approx 24k miles on it, our local dealership in ********* completely replaced the transmission, repaired the Apple car play system and repaired the drivers seat. In April 2024, the car started having trouble with all the same things. Our local Lincoln dealership repaired a part of the new transmission, repaired the drivers seat again and repaired the car play system again. Through this process, we were talking with our service advisor at the our local dealership (Grapevine). I was asking for advice on if we should keep the car or not. During the buying process, we were told it was a Lincoln Certified Used car and had a 6 year/100K warranty on it. He told me the dealership we purchased it from (in ******) never filed any of this. We reached out to that dealership. They admitted this was the fact. Even though we have it in writing, the car was never Lincoln Certified, but was priced at a premium saying it was. After MONTHS of following up with dealership with barely a response, the dealership did finally offer a comparable warranty as a Lincoln Certified Used car but, it still remains that the car NEVER went through the certification process and was never Lincoln Certified Used. We paid a premium for this certification. It also affects resale value substantially. We asked for additional compensation to cover the premium price we paid for the car and the difference in current resale value. The General Managers response was that "the warranty you were given at no cost covers more than the certified warranty and is a higher overall value." The fact that they had to come to the table and spend money to purchase a warranty after the fact, is not our concern. We purchased a Certified Used Lincoln and that is not what we received.
