    I accepted a quote for deck railing, deck facia and stairs work to complete my deck at my home under my current permit with the ** ** ****** ****. The quote was reasonable and the contractor seemed to be legitimate (met him several times at a local trade show in Saskatoon over a couple years prior to engaging). Contractor took the full railing cost as deposit due to the 'specialty order' nature, which I paid by cheque - he picked the cheque up at my house last July 2023. He asked for some additional GST tax payment because it was left off the deposit total, which I understood and paid. Then he went absent until the fall. Excuses started. Hard to contact. In the spring 2024, I reached out again and received similar responses with promise to call when back. Never did. Also he promised/said he had the product in storage in his Saskatoon warehouse and we were to meet to pick it up - this also never happened. * ******* *** **** *** ** * ******** ******* ***** *** ******** **** ***** *** ******. He has now disappeared and is unresponsive to to my queries. He is now selling his equipment on line...but has some parked at his house in Saskatoon (**** ******* ** ********). I have reached out via a new phone number and he responds to the anonymous query - he doesn't know it is me...so his number is active and he is clearly 'ghosting' me on the other phone number. Avoiding contact. ** ******* ****** ** *** **** **** ** ****** ******* ******* *** ********* *** **********. I last communicated with him in June and he is now unresponsive. The deck is not completed and I am now in contradiction of my deck permit with the ** ** ****** ****. I am only seeking a refund of fees paid to date.
