- Date of transaction: 27th of June - The amount of money paid to the business: $4865.94 for appliances and $79.99 for installation - - The Business committed to delivering the appliances and installing them for a fee which we paid. - Nature of the dispute: Appliances were delivered in a sloppy manner by delivery men who could barely communicate in English, making it very hard for my Australian husband to understand. While delivering the appliances, they left black marks on our walls with their filthy hands, and when asked to be careful, they shrugged. They failed to install the feet on our dryer which scratched the floors when they pushed it into the closet. They did not install the drain pipe for the washing machine which they said they did. If we had not inspected this, we would have flooded our whole condo and the condo below us, resulting in thousands of dollars in damage. We called Corbeil Gatineau to report this, and they said there was not a manager working so they couldn't do anything and to call back when a manager was present. We then spoke to the salesman who sold us the appliances, and he said we needed to call the customer service line, which we did and waited over an hour to be hung up on twice because no agent was available to take the call. We then physically went into Corbeil Gatineau and recounted our experience, and they said they would get the head office in Montreal to call us. More than a week has gone by and we have not heard anything, so we called the Corbeil Gatineau store again and they told us to call the customer service line again. They have not made any effort to rectify the situation and have been dismissive and rude on the phone and in person. They refuse to refund our $79.99 delivery fee and say this cannot be done until they speak to head office. We also have a whole email thread with Corbeil customer service asking for images which we sent and have not heard back from them in 3 weeks.
