    New customer with greenshield as of March 1st. Health insurance includes travel and medical assistance. On the benefit card is a number to call if you experience a medical issue while traveling. On March 31st I had an issue and needed medical assistance and their benefit package dates you need to contact them within 48 hours to open a claim so while the issue was occurring at the doctor's office several attempts were made by The resort the doctor and myself to call that number which does not work from Dominican. The next day I sent all the paperwork and made a claim to Greenfield which would have been April 1st and also emailed them as well telling them what was going on the day before and asking them to open a claim because their phone number didn't work. I did not get a response from them for 6 days after I was home at which point they told me to reclaim my paperwork again to a company called Allianz. When I asked her this company was they said that they handled the travel portion of the insurance for which I told them that is not stated anywhere on my brochure that that part is contracted out but anyhow, I refiled to that company. This Thursday will now be eight weeks and I still do not have my claim reviewed or paid back to me. On calls with Greenfield they don't help me and just keep saying call the other company even though I pay greenshield and not the other company. The other company, Allianz just keeps saying 6 weeks and it's in the queue and the last discussion they said 6 to 8 weeks and it's in the queue and now it's 8 weeks and I still do not have my refund for the claim and now we received an email from greenshield stating they are switching travel insurance to a different company so I don't know what's going on.

    Unfortunately I am forced to use this company through my employer. 1. The app is atrocious, the start screen just has a spot that says "a button" it always requires MFA doesn't matter if you logged in 3 mins before. 2. Not being able to upload invoices and other documentation at time of initial submit only for it to be declined for not enough info is a waste of everyone's time 3. Basically having to do your own billing and know all the codes etc. for dental billings because again they won't just process the invoice from the dental office is bad practice. Myself and my employer pay GSC for these services, it shouldn't be a job put on the client 4. Nurses mental health is soo important we recently fought for "unlimited mental health coverage" but don't see a Registered Social Worker as GSC has deemed this is not acceptable provider , for what reason? Let's bog down the professions that are covered , RSW is properly trained, they should be included. 5. Needing a family doctors referral for services that DO NOT REQUIRE referrals is asinine, not only does it bottleneck care provided by family doctors, it also costs the client out of pocket $ to ask their MDs for these notes (if we can even get in to see our doctors in a reasonable time frame since this is a non-urgent need). Massage, Physio, orthotics etc. are all services that can be accessed by clients without doctors notes. This is bad practice . 6. Where on the website can we see what accounts are returns are being paid into and can we adjust these accounts as needed? IF we can do this on the CRA website surely GSC can allow us access to this. 7. My kids are under my husbands benefits first, and everything is declined , if I've proven once that my husbands benefits don't cover this service, why do i need to prove this everytime even if it was only days apart. Also having to wait to be declined so then i can add the additional information is again bad practice.
