    Sold an item online and then shipped it cod wanting me to pay the import costs without me even knowing they’d ship outside of the United States. Had to submit a chargeback to save my funds from them because they won’t cooperate with canceling the order. **** *****

    Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry this experience was frustrating.
    To clarify the facts for the BBB record:
    1. Your order was placed on our .ca website, which is based in Canada. All shipments from this site to the U.S. are considered international shipments.
    2. The shipment moved under standard Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) terms. Prior to August 29th, shipments of this value qualified under the de minimis exemption and entered the U.S. duty-free. After the exemption was revoked, duties, taxes, and the carrier’s brokerage fee became billable to the importer (the recipient) at delivery. These are not “COD product charges,” but rather government and courier-imposed import fees that apply to cross-border orders.
    3. At checkout, customers must check a box agreeing to our Terms & Conditions before completing an order. These terms clearly state that import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are the responsibility of the recipient and are beyond our control. We do not create, profit from, or determine these charges they are assessed solely by U.S. Customs and the carrier.
    4. With respect to cancellation: once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled. We always work with customers on next steps in line with our posted policies. In this case, we responded promptly to the majority of your emails and provided clarification regarding the situation.
    We are happy to provide the BBB with supporting documentation, including screenshots of the checkout notices and our Terms & Conditions relating to international orders, as well as shipment records from the carrier that outline the nature of these charges. We are also happy to provide coppies of our Correspondence with you.
    Mr. *****, we have explained our policies in multiple email exchanges and made every effort to assist you. Unfortunately, the solutions available under our Terms & Conditions did not align with your expectations. While we understand your frustration, it is important to clarify that import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are the responsibility of the importer, not the exporter.
    We recognize that recent regulatory changes in certain countries have created challenges for customers, and we are actively working to minimize the impact wherever possible. We regret that you experienced these charges and understand how they can feel unexpected. That said, these costs are imposed by customs authorities and carriers and remain outside of our control.
    We value our customers and strive to be as transparent as possible about cross-border costs. We apologize for the inconvenience and remain committed to working toward minimizing our customers exposure where ever possible.
