Ricardo at Viveiros Group agreed to file my 2019 and 2020 taxes and then never completed the job. I reached out to Ricardo on March 3rd 2021 asking him about their operations during covid. On March 4th he replied that it would all be done via email. On March 9th I sent him all necessary information and told him to let me know if he needed anything else. I received no response On March 18th I asked Ricardo for a confirmation that he had received my information and intended to file my taxes. On March 19th he responded "All Received. If there are any issues I will let you know" On April 26th i emailed Ricardo informing him that my taxes hadn't been filed. I received no response On May 24th I asked Ricardo again if he intended to file my taxes. We had missed the standard tax time, but I'm an independent contractor so I technically had til June. I received no response On August 3rd I reached out again as his missing my deadline had disqualified me from collecting CERB. I needed this money badly so I let him know it was urgent. On August 4th Ricardo responded that he had been "dealing with some family matters" and that he would take a look. I have since emailed or called the business every 3 weeks. I have not been able to get in contact with Ricardo, but reception informed me he is in fact still employed as an accountant. Ricardo has all my info for 2 years worth of taxes and has stated multiple times his intent to complete and file them. I know I should drop this and find a new accountant. But at this point it is a matter of principle. He should not be able to get away with operating this way. I personally know 2 other people that he has left hanging this same way. I hope he faces some sort of consequence for the way he runs his business. Thanks, **** ************
