      They cancelled my car insurance! I had just returned from a vacation and I had a registered letter waiting for me at the post office. When I went to the post office IIt was from Belair direct saying my insurance was cancelled because I did not fill out the forms they mailed to me. I did not receive any thing from Belair Direct! I am not in the habit of throwing out mail. What I didn’t understand is why they couldn’t email me or call or text, anything before cancelling it. I then contacted the number provided and was on hold forever, and finally I was told That I needed to fill out this form and email it to them.I had to do it twice because I missed the part and finally they sent me an email to log into my account and it was renewed for the next year **** *** **** *********** ** *** I have never had insurance cancel. My driving record is perfect and I have had no claims since I moved with Belair direct over three years ago. Although they fixed the problem, there was no apology. * **** ***** ** *** ***** ** ** ********* ******* **** **** *** you can be sure I’ll be looking in the future or another company. ***** ** *** ****** *******

      I have had my plan recently transferred to BelairDirect. In the renewal package I was sent I was provided with a document with insurance legalese which for this individual was beyond my scope of comprehension. Further I perused the information regarding the four vehicles we would be insuring through renewal. Upon such I found their documentation fraught with errors. I took far too long to observe the errors and drafted an email to Belair Direct because I waited for a telephone to be answered and I didn't need to wait far longer than I did. I sent my email April 5, 2024. the returned a response to my email on April 16th notifying me eleven days after the fact that I would need to contact them by phone; we had gone full circle but took eleven days to get nowhere. I listed 15 errors in their documentation of the vehicles but three points of clarification. It took me time to send this document but my purpose in it is to make certain no one else needs to go through this far less that satisfactory customer service. My initial letter: Apr 5th Policy ******** **** ********* ¾ ton pickup truck It is a *** ; whatever the listed *** 30/3500 pickup is, the *** is not! It is not a 1 ton pickup it is a ¾ ton pickup! It was purchased for slightly over $5000.00; not close to the $20,000.00 stated! It is not a 4WD! It was purchased new in 1975, new, in Taber. It was not bought used! It was not purchased 01/01/04! It has never been located in Taber! It's used as a household work and garden vehicle. (my wife) has never been the “other driver”! It is a stick-shift and not in her skill set. Sec. B list premium $134; this is increased from $54 a 2.5% increase, is this correct? 2010 **** ******* ** Convertible This vehicle has never been located in Taber. At no time has it had anything to do with Taber. Policy ******** **** ******* ****** V6 2DR Coupe This vehicle has also never been located in Taber. At no time has it had anything to do with Taber. 2019 **** ***** ********

      **** ******** ********** ** **** ** **** ** ***** *********** ** ****** **** ******* **** ****** ** **** ** ******* ***** After over 30+ years with a broker & a company we were very satisfied with, it was bought by Belair & we received same initial covering letters stating there would be no changes, nothing to do on our part. They really push using their app & online services though. We are a bundle (cars, house,cottage). Our car(s) policies arrived earlier this year. After contacting Belair as they had changed one car from seasonal storage to active without my consent, I asked about the large premium increase & was told all insurance companies were raising premiums & they were one of the first to do so. When we received the house & cottage policy recently, ** **** **** **** *********** Belair made year changes, wrong years, add ons & options ( some $0, some $$$) changed the deductibles etc. Transition has meant lots of research on our part to go over the Belair contracts line by line, comparing our previous policy with theirs, checking to pick out differences, premium increases & coverage changes & most importantly what they do not cover. They even wrote in bold warnings the policy contains a clause (that you have to search for) that may limit the amount payable. They also write it is a contract & to check for changes & accuracy. It means we have to take alot of time reviewing this new contract & contact Belair to go over their version, get clarification about add ons & options, almost like starting from scratch. ** **** ***** ** *** **** ** **** ******* ****** ** ****** ***** ********* *** ******** * *******

      At belairdirect, our goal is to make new renewals with our company as smooth as possible for our clients. Therefore, the policy documents that outline your coverage, applicable limits, any deductible that would apply in the event of a claim and any exclusions are made available. In the welcome pages to these documents, the statement reads, “We encourage you to read these documents carefully as aspects of your policy may have changed”. Furthermore, a list is included of certain coverages or endorsements that may have been reduced/reimbursed or enhanced/increased considering the renewal to belairdirect specific products. To offer a transparent customer experience, we want our clients to have access to all this information, so they are well-informed of their insurance policy details. As always, our Licensed Insurance Agents are always readily equipped to assist our clients with this transition.

      I am a new driver, so my insurance will inherently be higher than usual. ** ****** * ****** **** * *** **** ** * ********** *** *** ******* ********** **** ** * ****** ******** ********** * *** *** ** *** **** ***   Called Belairdirect and was able to speak to an agent IN MINUTES. He walked me through the process of getting a quote, and was perfectly kind the entire time. For a mere $340 I get up to $1,000,000 of coverage on damage I do or done to me. Plus $1000 coverage on fire, theft, and general accidental damage. But that's not the best part. For just $10 extra, totaling only $350, they will give me a rental car if mine gets totaled while it is being repaired, and give me 4 uses of roadside assistance per year. BELAIRDIRECT IS THE GOAT ??

      If you live in a condo or condo-townhome and have a home insurance policy, please be aware Bel-air does NOT offer proper coverage for home insurance.       At belairdirect, our goal is to make new renewals with our company as smooth as possible for our clients. Therefore, the policy documents that outline your coverage, applicable limits, any deductible that would apply in the event of a claim and any exclusions are made available. At belairdirect, Condominium locations do not require mortgagee information to be added as we are not the primary insurer on the building. Our condominium insurance policy provides coverage for the insured’s contents and only secondary coverage on the building. Clients requesting a mortgagee to be added to their condominium insurance policy are advised to contact their Condominium management office to have their mortgage added to the Condominium Corporation’s policy.

      This is only an issue at Belair direct and creates an environment of ********** and non-transparency to their customers. I will be informing everyone I know who owns a condo to double check their policies with Belair.

      Belairdirect insurance. ***** ********* ******* ***** Poor customer service. They offered me 25% of what my vehicle was worth. Then left the driver who was injured in the accident without a vehicle ** *** ** *** ** ******** *******. Still waiting almost a week now for supervisor to contact us. ***** ***** ***** ***** *******

      A Claims Manager reached out to the insured on March 29, 2024, to discuss his concerns. As we do acknowledge that the initial valuation presented was lower than the market value, the Unit Claims Manager agreed to increase the settlement offer to $4,000, which our insured accepted. As an added concession because of the incorrect valuation, we agreed to extend our insured’s rental for an additional 5 days. The cheque was sent on April 2 and the Unit Claims Manager has confirmed with our insured that all has been resolved.

      Everything was good until .... I got into an accident. The accident was NOT my fault and the other driver admitted to 100% fault. Belair Insurance refused to replace the car seat I had in my vehicle because I could not provide the following: 1) a photo of the old car seat with the straps cut. I could not provide a photo because I had disposed of the car seat. 2) a original receipt for the damaged car seat Belair Insurance refused to cover the full costs of the rental vehicle because I had a rental for for 2 1/2 months and I had the rental for 2 days past when my car repairs were complete, BUT the only way I knew my vehicle repairs were complete was because the car rental place phoned me to inform me my insurance was not covering the car rental since two days prior. Nobody informed me my car repairs were complete.

      We have acknowledged the customer’s concerns and as a customer service gesture, we are going to pay for the extended rental for two days. Payment for the car seat has been issued to the customer directly. The issues have been addressed accordingly and the complaint is now resolved.

      I recently engaged with Belairdirect for an online insurance quote, initially enticed by their attractive rates. However, upon closer examination and interaction with their customer service, my experience took a disappointing turn. After receiving what seemed like a reasonable estimate online, I proceeded to provide my bank account details, expecting a smooth transition. However, upon contact with a customer care representative, I was informed of an additional requirement regarding training from a certified driving institute, a condition not clearly outlined on their website. This discrepancy between the online quote and subsequent communication with the customer service team has left me dissatisfied with Belairdirect's service. The disparity in the provided information and the subsequent increase in the quote, coupled with what appears to be a false reason, raises concerns regarding transparency and integrity within their operations. As a potential customer seeking reliable insurance services, I expected a clearer and more consistent communication process from Belairdirect. Regrettably, this experience has led me to question the reliability and *************** of their services. In conclusion, while Belairdirect may offer initially attractive quotes online, the lack of transparency and inconsistency in their communication ultimately overshadow the positive aspects, leaving me hesitant to further engage with their services

      We were able to investigate the client’s concerns and we have been able to determine that there was some confusion regarding the client's online quote and subsequent conversation with our agent. There seems to be a misinterpretation regarding the application of certain discounts during the online quotation process, such as the driver training course, which the client might not have been eligible for. Additionally, during our conversation, the client was uncertain about whether they had opted for full coverage or liability only. This could potentially account for the variation in the quoted premium. We’ve emphasized that online quotes serve as a rough estimate and may not reflect the precise premium amount.

      It's ridiculous how many times my appointment was changed because customer service made mistake after mistake. Eventually, my hail damage repair got delayed due to these errors. Despite filing a claim right after the hailstorm, my repair ended up being one of the last to be completed. Furthermore, as I have two cars, I was entitled to receive a replacement car equivalent to my *******, which is a 7-seater. However, on the first day of my service, there was no car available, another mistake on their part. Then, the next day, I was provided with a standard *** instead of a 7-seater. Given my family size and the terms of my contract stipulating an equivalent replacement, this was unacceptable. When I raised the issue with customer service, they offered excuses about the lack of car availability. They were making up some stories that because there are too many claims, no rentals available. ********** ******* *****. Frustrated after couple of days of this, I decided to contact the rental company myself, only to discover that there were indeed available cars and that my insurance company had not approved the 7-seater SUV. It's not just one individual at Belairdirect, but multiple representatives who are being dishonest. It seems they can't be bothered to check things properly and take shortcuts. It's incredibly disappointing. To be honest, I want to complaint, but do not know what to request. I am just mad that customer services failed me in all stages of the claims and wasted many hours of my time. Please make things right. Giving 2 stars for the great insurance price and also my old experience was very positive.

      We spoke with the client, and we acknowledged there were delays and some confusion following the rental and repairs from the large hailstorm in 2023.  The client’s vehicle has received all required repairs to the clients satisfaction.

      I had homeowners insurance with ******* and ******* and was paying approximately 800 per year. Now that Belairdirect bought them out my new policy is $1997.00! Absolutely ridiculous. Needless to say I won’t be renewing with Belairdirect. ******!
