    June 29th 2025 Cashier attempted to charge tax on a can good (soup at 4.99) to an elderly gentleman. when advised that there isn't supposed to be hst on can goods he said he knew the law and only ive and milk was tax exempt. This is obviously not true in ******* which makes me question what happens with the tax portion

    It was a miscommunication.  In the first week of June, we changed our POS system into the new POS.  Items weren't scanning based on the tags. We have more than ***** skul's out of which a few grocery items were not keyed in properly by the computer technician as he doesn't know which items were taxed by the provincial government.  The clerk working at the store was a new hire and he's from overseas and isn't familiar with taxes and the tax system in ****** yet.  On behalf of the new hire as the owner, I would like to apologize to the customer and would like to reward him with a $25.00 gift certificate for shopping in Tiffanys. We promise to rectify the issues with the taxes.
