*********** ALWAYS GET OFFICIAL SCALE TICKETS!
We used Miracle Movers Twice in the past 3 years with moves first from Toronto to Vancouver and then from Vancouver to Halifax. Both moves were priced on the total weight. Our first experience had us overbilled by a little because we were told our weight was more than estimated. We accepted this, did not ask for a scale ticket, paid the new, higher balance and were generally happy with the move.

On our second move, we specifically asked for a scale ticket and were told we would be provided one on the day of the move from a government scale facility. We were once again told our weight was well over the estimated amount and were being billed an additional $2,000; however, no scale ticket was provided. We fought for the right to have a second weigh at the destination and were told that they would instead weight at their own facility in Toronto. We were given a new weight, resulting in a a difference of ~500lbs and a $1,000 reduction in the bill. We were told that the government scales in Vancouver are sometimes wrong but were once again not given a scale ticket.

We had a third weigh done in Halifax (at an additional charge of $100) which resulted in another 300lbs inaccuracy and an additional $500 refund. Ultimately the company tried to overcharge us by $1,500 for the move and unless we fought for it, they would have gotten it.

The contracted movers themselves were always excellent. The guys were on time, fast and more or less delicate (we had just a few broken or damaged items). *************************************************************** *****************************************************
At the end of the day, if you are being charged by weight, make sure to get official scale tickets before and after the truck is loaded!
