Have videos of the bike I just purchased that was supposed to be mint, pissing fuel out of the carb, videos of the odometer and speedometer not working, wasn’t allowed to preview before purchase, feel like they forced a sale of a piece of junk and they won’t return the bike after all the problems have been brought forward on receiving the bike, picked it up Wednesday may 10th and tried to return by the 13 after unloading it and the first ride! The sale was a **** around with multiple two hour trips to go pick up a bike that on arrival wasn’t ready, they released the bike before transferring ownership after wasting our time twice and than told me they didn’t even change the oil before sale, after everything I just want my money back from these ********

    Business Response

    Date: 25/05/2023

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint which contains several signaificant inaccuracies, my name is **** *** ****** and I serve as the President of *** ****** ****** **** which is the corporation that owns and operates Cameron Cycle.

With respect to the complaint, Mr. ****** ********* did not purchase anything from us rather the unit he is referncing was purchased by Ms. ***** **** on April 24th, 2023.  The unit he is referencing is a 2016 Arctic Cat Alterra 400 ATV which was traded into us by its original owner on a new unit earlier this year.  The unit has been incredibly well looked after and is in every respect capable of performing and operating properly.

Ms. **** payed the outstanding balance and picked the unit up on Wednesday May 10th, subsequently my brother ***** *** ****** was reviewing and closing work orders and realized that we had not changed the oil on the unit before it went out which is our standard practice, whether its needed or not just so the customer knows the date of when it was changed.  Acting proactively, ***** reached out to Ms. **** and communicated with Mr. ********* at that time indicating that we would change the oil any time no charge, provide him the oil and filter to do it himself or pick the unit up service and return it at no charge.  Ms. **** indicated that they would appreciate us picking it up and servicing it for them and so ***** went and picked it up.

Mr. ********* indicated that he had concerns that the unit may be leaking fuel and that the speedometer was working intermittently which ***** indicated he would look at when he had it in for service.  When *****, a decorated factory trained technician could not find any problems with the unit he contacted Ms. **** who indicated that she had accidentally overfilled the unit with gasoline which is what caused a spot on the ground that Mr. ********* had mistakenly assumed came from the fuel injection system.  When ***** sought to confirm with them a time to drop the unit back to Ms. ****, Mr. ********* indicated that she had "buyers remorse" and under the law was due a full refund which of course is not true.

At this point I was contacted by ***** and asked to speak to Mr. ********* which I did.  Mr. ********* started shouting at me on the phone immediately upon answering the call that "Ms. **** has buyers remorse and was owed a full refund" and told me that I was a "retard" because I didn't know the law.  I made clear to him that there is no such thing as a colling off period for a motor vehicle in Ontario and that secondly the unit was purchased on April 24th, not picked up until May 10th.  I told him that the unit had been registered to Ms. **** and that we had incurred significant costs and as such were not prpared to offer a full refund and incur those costs.

Mr. ********* then indicated to me that he had completed some Google searches on behalf of Ms. **** and that his searches indicated that the 2016 Alterra 400 had electrical problems and that we had knowingly sold her a "piece of junk" as we didn't allow her to test drive it before she bought it.  I responded by indicating that we don't allow any test drives of powersports products for insurance and safety purposes, that the unit was in like new condition and that we could not find any problems with it of any kind.  I then forwarded to Mr. ********* the named of the original owner who is a retired gentleman who confirmed to him that the machine was all original and that outside of replacing the battery and the air filter that he had never had any issues with the ATV which he had only ever used to clear snow from his drive.

I personally returned the unit to Ms. ****'s home at no cost.  I tested it myself and can confirm that it performs exactly as it should and that it's condition is excellent.  We have been in business since 1994, always in retail sales and have built our business on providing the very best after sales support that we possibly can.  In this case we sold Ms. **** a near showroom conditioned 7 year old ATV complete with a snow plow, winch and rear cargo box for a grand total of $6000 including all taxes and license or for a net price of $5276.11.  We did not in any way misrepresent the ATV nor did we "scam" anyone, Ms. **** made an offer for substantially less money than what we were asking for it and we accepted her offer.

Mr. *********'s description of events are simply not true and his allegations that we have in any way scammed anyone are knowingly and demonstrably false.  We appreciate having the opportunity to respond to his baseless accusations and are available to respond at any time to any questions or concerns that you may have.

    Sincerely,

    **** *** ******
