On July 18th, I requested that an order be placed for a wheelchair for my mother, residing in a Long Term Care Home. Her existing chair no longer meets her advancing health care needs, and is provoking significant pain in her spine and neck. The Sales Agent at Mack Hall Mobility, now Ontario Home Health, stated that the order delivery window would be 5 weeks from payment date. I paid $4,600 to Ontario Home Health and the order was confirmed. I called 4 weeks later, for an update. The Sales Agent said it was still on a 5 week delivery trajectory and that I could expect to hear in about a week. No call came. I called on Tuesday, August 27th and left a vm. No return call. I called again on Thursday, Sept 2nd, and was told that the Sales Agent would call back. I received a call at 9:50 today, Sept 3rd from the Sales Agent, who informed me that the order had been cancelled. He would not or could not explain how/when. I am out $4600. *****************. We have another 5 week wait. Not OK. **Update Sept 7** I have just been contacted by the Manager / Boss of the Sales Agent I was dealing with. He is aware of my concerns. He is arranging for a loaner that will take a week to get to my Mom. If Ontario Home Health does contact you, I do request a written response from Ontario Home Health which factually lays out what happened, and when, why there was not more oversight, why I was told when I checked with the Sales Agent on August 17th that it was still on track, and what has been put in place to prevent future vulnerable people from having to experience undue pain. I am also requesting an assurance that the order placed today will be diligently tracked, and that I will receive updates on the status of the order. With thanks for your advocacy, **
