I purchased an Instant Pot Air Fryer, which emitted a strong chemical smell and used only two days. The seller agreed to replace it and provided me with a reference number. January 22 bought a Insta pot 6 quart air fryer. tried using it for six weeks to try to get the smell out of it. It has a chemical smell to it that does not get better. I was afraid I was subjecting my family to some kind of paint chemical smell and I was afraid to continue to use it a lot of reviews that you cannot get the chemical smell out of it My concern is to other families that may have the same problem with this particular machine. Bought an Instant Pot Omni 18L Air Fryer Toaster Oven in June 2022 from Amazon and in March 2023 it started making a weird loud buzzing noise and was heating food less properly. Instant Home customer service sent a replacement unit and the unit worked fine until now (December 2023, ~9 months later) and is making the exact same buzzing noise and heating food less properly. Customer service will not provide a refund or a replacement, and states that their 1-year warranty only applies to the original unit, despite the replacement unit being an entirely new, different, and separate unit. They offered me a 30% off coupon on a new unit, as if I'd be delusional enough to buy a third unit and wait for it to break again in 6 months. They have since ghosted my emails and chat messages. I would really appreciate a refund since I have now had not one but two non-functioning units that both had the exact same issues within a year of purchase or obtaining each unit, or a replacement at the very minimum. This is really poor customer service. I will happily share receipts, message history, and proof of product malfunction with the company should they choose to reach out to me and take accountability for their poor products and customer service.Customer Answer

Two years ago, we received the Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus 8qt as a wedding gift. When we recently opened it for the first time and attempted to use it, all of the steam would continuously release. When I reached out to customer service and submitted a picture, they informed me that the steam release valve was missing. This was never provided. I was happy to purchase a replacement for this part, however I was informed that this model was discontinued and that there is no way to purchase a replacement part. I was encouraged to purchase a new instant pot. I found this to be an unreasonable and unfair business practice. I searched online and realized many customers have experienced similar issues. I'm once again requesting the part. If this is not possible, your company must provide a replacement for a similar model.Business Response

I purchased an Instant pot duo crisp 8 quart pressure cooker/air fryer in November of 2020. In early November of 2022 I noticed a metallic taste to the food I cooked in it and then noticed that the protective coating on the bottom of the pressure cooker had peeled in several places. I sent an email to Instant pot’s support along with a photo of the damage and of the serial number, and the original receipt. About two weeks later I received a response asking for the photo, serial number and receipt. I sent it again, and received a brief email saying my instant pot was out of warranty and giving me a discount code, but with no explanation as to whether the damage was likely to contaminate food or what had caused it. The discount code did not work when I tried to buy a replacement. I emailed again, and was given the same non-working discount code. The fact that the food cooked in the instant pot tastes metallic and the interior is peeling seems dangerous to me and that was not addressed at all.Business Response
