SI&M did some work at our house in Sept. The work is guaranteed for 15 years and they assured me that they had many years experience in the industry and if there were any problems, they were only a phone call away. I did find some issues - parging and polymeric sand that did not set properly etc. - and started calling and eventually texting/emailing them for repairs. They arranged for 3 separate appointments and did not show up for any. They have not replied to the last few texts they and emails to the company account bounce back. Also, I am still waiting for a proper invoice, which they promised but did not provide. I would suggest that you use another company for your landscaping repairs.

I had an interesting discussion with ****** (who identified himself as 'not the owner but part of the family who owns the business'.

He phoned me 30 Oct, then he came by the house ******************************************************* again 2 November.

He agreed that the initial work was not done well and told me it would cost an additional $7k to do it properly.  When I assured him that I would not pay any additional money for the work that he was supposed to have done properly in the first place, he told me that if they just repaired the work it would need to be repaired again (and again).  I reminded him that I have a 15 year guarantee.  He told me that he had not guaranteed the work and I pointed out that the company had (**** and ****).  Then he said that guarantees 'do not mean anything' - a comment that I found rather disconcerting.

He told me that if he had the $18k, he would just return it to me so that he did not have to keep coming back.  I told him that I would be fine with that.

Eventually he said that he would send his workers by the house today (4 Nov) to do the repairs.  It is not 2:18 and the workers have not come (and he has not called).  ******** phone shows on my cell as "Unknown" so I cannot contact him.  But I did sent the attached email to **** ******* and to the Senators Interlocking and Masonry company email.

A letter that you mailed to the company was sent to the wrong address. I know this because the company that received the letter (a law firm) emailed me. It was sent to Suite 216 not 210.

I sent the *** version to the 2 email addresses that I have for Senators Interlocking and Masonry (which I gave to BBB on 8 Oct).  I also sent it as an attachment via text to **** (one of the managers at Senators Interlocking and Masonry).

I am wondering when the complaint will be posted on BBB site.  When I was advised by BBB to change the review to a complaint, BBB removed the review from their system.  Thus, there is no real incentive for Senators Interlocking and Masonry to do the work at my house, since there is neither a poor review nor a complaint posted for them.

I was assure that my complaint would be posted within 2 calendar weeks. It is now beyond that, and well beyond the time when I first contacted BBB (8 October).

I know that your staff is working out of *****************, but I am in ****** ******. The temperature today is 28'F.  Soon it will be too cold to do the repairs, as the cement will not set at low temperatures.  This means that the work will not be repaired until at least May 2025.

I have not heard back from Senators Interlocking and Masonry and now do not expect to hear from them again until you post either the review or the complaint online.

When I spoke with your staff on the phone (3 separate people) I was told that BBB would give the company 2 weeks to reply and then post the complaint. It has now been 4 weeks since the complaint was filed on 30 Oct and 7 weeks since I filed a review on 8 Oct (which you posted for a couple of days and then removed).

Can  you not just post the complaint now - I am sure that will prompt the company to contact you/me.  And if not, at least no one else will chose this company for their work.

Hi - I just spoke with **** re your recent email to me concerning Senators Interlocking and Masonry.  Your review on your website says that the company is not rated as it has been in business for fewer than 6 months, but their flyer claims 20+ years in business.  Please see attached photos of flyer.

Just another note, which I mentioned to your BBB staff, one of the Senators' supervisors (******) told me that although they had provided a 15 year guarantee on the work, "Guarantees do not mean anything".
