    BEWARE of this contractor!Sharing to prevent others from falling into this rabbit hole like we did.Very disappointing that despite the positive ****** reviews from several months ago, something has shifted in this mans business resulting in us giving him a 1 based on our interactions over the past month.October 17th after he came to the 2 adjacent properties, he quoted my neighbour and I, $350 each to complete work on our trees. The email requested a 20% deposit of $150 for both and stated in email he could do the work next week. I e-transfered my $75, my neighbour misunderstood and sent $150. I received a call at 11:55am on the 17th from Max saying I was supposed to send $150, not $75! I did the math gymnastics in my head about the amount of 20% of $350 = $70. He said there was also tax. I said fine, Ill send you another $25 to bring it up to $100, which I did. When can you do the work? He said next Tuesday (Oct 20th).Since that time he hasnt shown up, has given several other dates that were all no shows and one excuse that his chipper broke down, that he would fix it over the weekend. He is ?? non responsive to our numerous calls and ************ (Nov 15/25), I went to his business address (appears to be his residence). Vehicles were in laneway, no one would answer the door. I posted a copy of our emails and proof of deposits on his door, took photos and left.I have no idea what is going on with his business, but clearly he has been unable to provide the service he quoted to us. All we want now is our respective deposits back from him and to move on.
