I received a call at my cottage around May 14th from Permanent Building Products asking me me if I need and home renovations. I told the lady I believe her name was Michelle that I was looking for to the shingles replaced at the cottage as I had some damage done to the roof on the bunkie when the top of a tree fell and put a hole in the roof. She told me that this the work they do and she set up an appointment with me and a person to estimate the cost of this job. The following seeking me and my wife meet up with Brian. Brian was shown the building that I needed done and walk around looking at the roof. He was also shown were the damage was done on the roof of the bunkie. Brian provide me the estimate cost of the job. I asked him how much more it would cost to do it in metal and he provided me the cost. He left me an estimate and told me he would be in contact with me in a couple of days as we at that time didn't know if we were going to do shingles or metal. Brian called a couple of days later and I mentioned to him we would be doing metal. Brian mention that this will be fine as he has a crew installed a metal roof in Fenelon Fall and could be done at the same time. Brian came by my home in and had me sign a contact for them to do the job and I had to provide a deposit to which I did. I received a call from Gary co owner of Permanent building products on July 13th telling me that they would not be doing my cottage roof in metal as his roofer stated that there was moss on the roof. This is normal up north as there is more trees then there is building and their the person that did the estimate who is also a co owner did check out the roof prior to providing the estimate. I said then I will go back to shingles then and Gary said fine he would send me a new contact via email to me. Nothing was sent . Spoke with Gary and he said he is not doing the job and not make money . I now have a building a hole in the roof and all the roofers are booked already

No work was done for this party. Three different crews were sent 200 kms to check roof and found it in deplorable condition, rotten plywood and unsafe to Install metal roofing. A full refund was issued! *******************

This company called me to provide a service I did not call them. They new the location of my cottage. They came to the cottage and provided me with an estimate of what the job wood cost and I asked the person who provided me with the estimate who is also a co owner of the company if there is any problem to get people to do the job and his reply was no. Do to the fact of choosing this company it has cost me an extra $600 do to the cost of material going up . As per the other owner comment to me was that he wasn't going to loss money doing a job. Maybe before they take on work maybe they better find a contractor that does work in the other. It should take a month without any communication to find out that none of their roofing contractors would do the job for the price they estimate. Just think they wanted me to use them for other renovations. Roof is not rotten and will be shingled before the end of the summer no thanks to Permanent Building Product. It seems to be they are more interested in the dollars in profits. You would think being a home renovation company and if my roof was in such ruff contention would would think they would of provide me with a solution for the problem instead of canceling a signed contract and mailing by a refund after having my deposit for a month. Profit beats customer service.
