Despite this, I was charged for the part, resulting in an overcharge of $682.92. Upon reviewing my records, I discovered this billing discrepancy in September 2024.On September 16, 2024, I contacted T and K Auto Service to request a refund for the amount that had been wrongfully charged. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue amicably, the business refused my request for a refund, claiming that the charges were valid, even though the part replaced was covered under *********** is evident from the records that I was overcharged for a part that should not have incurred any additional cost. I consider this matter fraudulent and a violation of consumer protection laws.Desired Resolution:I am seeking a full refund of $682.92, the amount I was overcharged, within 14 days. To whom it may concern,

***** came to us last year for service for her car around January 2023. We did provide service and fixed the car. After ten months in October she returned with a problem in her car, after inspection we changed her vehicle's control arm. She did not mention anything about this part being already looked at ten months prior. After a year she came back and asked for her previous service history, from a honest business stand point we provided her history of previous billing. She said that her control arm was already changed in January of 2023 and was again changed in October 2023 along with other services and demanded a refund on her bill.

We as a business have over 500 clients with various problems who come to visit us, we don't remember every service done to every car. As a matter of fact, it might have not even been the same technician who did the service during both her visits, therefore, as the client it was her duty to remember the previous services and keep her invoices to mention this part was already replaced. ***** came to us a year later accusing us of unlawful charges, however, she failed to scan the whole billing documentations and hide the bottom, which clearly state what our policies are on the parts warranty in the bottom. If required, we can find her full billing and scan to send the complete bill.

Our intentions was not to overcharge our client, our intention was to ensure safety of the vehicle. Regardless, once she came back to us, we told her will refund her $300 for the part of the billing. This was not enough for her, therefore, she demanded we refund her the entire billing. In the billing it includes labor which is evident and as a business owner it is unfair to refund our technicians labor cost. So please kindly understand our point of view, and provide us the fair judgement. If you want any further documentation please let us know!

I am rejecting this response because:

    Date: October 30, 2024

    To whom it may concern,

I am writing to address the issue of a refund request for services provided by T & K Auto Service regarding my vehicle, and to clarify a few points based on recent discussions.

In January 2023, I visited T & K Auto Service for repairs on my car. I returned in October 2023 due to another issue, and after an inspection, the control arm was replaced again. At that time, I was unaware that this same part had been serviced just ten months earlier. After reviewing my records, I discovered that the control arm replacement had already been done in January 2023, meaning I was charged twice for the same part within a short period.

Upon realizing this, I approached T & K Auto Service on September 16, 2024, and requested a refund for the duplicated charge.Initially, I was offered a refund of $100 for labor costs only not $300. by the owner Shiva, which I did not find fair given that the part should have still been under warranty, and I should not have been charged for it a second time.Furthermore, as a business, it is expected that T & K Auto Service would retain records of previous services, as this is typically required for audit and customer ********************** purposes. While I understand they serve a large number of clients, they have access to service history and records, which can be retrieved easily.

I initially trusted T & K Auto Service with all my vehicle maintenance and never felt the need to question their service or check past invoices. However, it was only after visiting a different mechanic, who informed me about the duplicate charge, that I realized the error. I approached T & K Auto Service multiple times, even offering to settle the matter amicably to avoid escalation, but unfortunately, my concerns were not adequately acknowledged.

Therefore, I am requesting a full refund of $682.92, as I believe this charge was applied wrongfully. My intent is not to undermine the hard work of the technicians but to address a billing oversight that has financially impacted me. Additionally, I would like this issue to be resolved promptly with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) before my scheduled hearing in Small Claims Court, as I have already filed a claim to dispute this charge.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further documentation or clarification.

    Sincerely,
    ***** ******

If the business offered me 300 then I would negotiate that but they only offered me only $100.

I can pay $350 to the consumer because there is no warranty.  She didn't bring the bill to you and came after 2 years and asked about the history of the car.  This is an aluminum part.  The labor is only 90 days, 3 month parts and labor warranty and after this the labor is not covered.  I am willing to pay 80% for the parts.
