We have had our Grasshopper Solar panels installed for several years never had a problem contacting the office until now; WHEN WE NEED THE ANSWERS. We are scheduling to have an addition to our home and the contractor needs to remove 13 Solar panels in order to attach the roofs addition. Every phone number that Grasshopper has had 1.******** no longer works, their web site is non existing, also ###-###-#### goes to a series of departments all lead to ext. *** and no mail box is set up to leave a message. I have contact ****** Power for assistance as well as ieso and they keep referring me to the third party installer which would be Grasshopper Solar or Energy whatever they now call themselves. We are not the owners of the Solar panels and need the permission of the owner to have panels removed or the entire system removed. When we signed up with Grasshopper we were told that Grasshopper would provide at no cost to us a one time lift of the panels should shingles need to be replaced. SOMEONE IS RECIEVING MONEY FOR THE HYDRO BEING GENERATED BY THE SOLAR PANELS. Not sure what to do at this point before taking legal action or having our contractor remove the entire solar panel grid and disconnecting the meter no.******. The microFIT program was approved by the Provincial Gov. at the time and they should be in a position to help anyone who has been mislead by companies the likes of GRASSHOPPER SOLAR ENERGY.

Our Grasshopper micro-fit solar panels stopped producing energy over a year ago, and no one from the company will address or fix the issue. It's been 400 days and counting with no resolution in sight. I have asked repeatedly to have someone contact us with a concrete timeline and proposed course of action, to no avail. Would not recommend their service to anyone.

I bought a house with grasshopper solar panels on it in early September2024. The inverter stopped functioning in late September 2024. I contacted the company and my experience has been met with ********, and ghosting behaviours. First I was told there was a long lead time to replace item, then long delivery times, followed by 6 week to installation period. Today I was told a crew would be here. The times kept slipping and last commitment was to have crew here by 7 pm. No one showed.

    We appreciate your feedback.
We have reviewed your file and confirmed that our Client Care team has already addressed your concerns regarding system maintenance. Our technicians were dispatched to your property during the confirmed service window however, they were unable to proceed as access to the system was denied.

    Hello ********,
Thank you for sharing your concerns.
As per your lease agreement, roof maintenance is the homeowner’s responsibility. Based on the photos reviewed, the roof is in a poor condition, with missing shingles and exposed wood—conditions that likely contributed to the issues you are experiencing.
Wildlife intrusion is not a result of system negligence but rather the deteriorated state of the roof. That said, we have agreed to install critter guards as a preventative measure.

Hello *** I appreciate your response
I take full responsibility of the re roofing and shingles that were damaged...that's on me as a home owner, HOWEVER, critter guards were not installed and it gave a safe opening for the animal to formulate a home underneath the solar panel and dig their way thru to my attic!!! IF roof was exposed with bad shingles without solar panels...this would not have happened...IF critter guards were installed animal would not be able to get thru underneath the solar panels...This Is ********** on Grasshopper...if ESA approved guards in 2020...why was I not contacted to have it installed??? As a consumer I am not aware of this and it's company's responsibility to inform me!! I still believe bird trap could have been avoided if Grasshopper did their work properly

Not one individual working there will admit what was said to us, was no change for the removal of the panels for the first time. Not your roofing contractor or there’s a charge for the removal of the panels. I’m not the only individual this was told.
