      ***** - I had a terrible experience with Routes Car Rental *** ******** ****** ******** ** ***** ****. They charged me an unexpected and unfair Out of Province fee that was never clearly disclosed at booking or pickup.       “Mandatory” insurance is a ****. They charged me $377 because I did not have a copy of my hazard declarations page for my auto insurance. Honestly who carries around a copy of their hazard deck page? Ridiculous and I have asked for a refund

      Very disappointed in Routes. I booked through a third party and it does not say you need a credit card. I paid my money already and when I get there I notice it only requires a credit card and I have never seen this with any rental car service. They where very disappointing **** to me a would not give me any resolution or attempt. I was on the phone all day with the third party to get my money back because no one would answer the phone to cancel. A day later I am out $203 and have now dispute this with my bank. **** ***** ******** if you don’t give the car you should refund it is different if I wasn’t there to pick up the car.

      Everything about this experience has been frustrating and incredibly misleading! After waiting over 2 hours in line, we were told there would need to be a credit card for the deposit despite their advertisements that no credit card is needed to book. Then when paying for the booking, I told the man I had paid. He insisted I had not. I trusted him and paid again only to get back to back notifications from my bank that the payment went through twice. Now after well over 2 hours in line, I’m waiting on a refund for something I told him I had paid. So incredibly frustrating.

      *** **** ***** ** *** ** ***** ***** **** the worst experience of my life. We rented the car for a week online, we get there, they tell us it is a STATE requirement to pay for THEIR insurance, it is not they bait you, while driving down the interstate, the lug nuts fly out off, we called them, they told us we were on our own, we get back to the store to return the vehicle, the store manager ****** *** * ***** *** **** ***** ** *** **** she said " I will make sure you get your full refund" she then waited two days, then emailed me saying she had no recollection of the event. EVEN THOUGH SHE WROTE HER NAME ON MY REFUND RECIEPT

      **** * ***** Terrible customer service. The car was dirty when given to us. An employee almost hit us on our way out of the parking lot. The lines was LONG at 11pm. We waited a super long time for a shuttle. The back seatbelt was broken. The lights inside the car wouldn't turn off making it dangerous to drive at night. When we called to complain we were interrupted. I asked to speak to a manager and he said no then hung up on us. This was INSANE. I will continue to try and get some help dealing with this business. I have already contacted my lawyers.

      I had a deeply upsetting experience with Routes Car Rental (Richmond/Vancouver location). My flight was delayed, and I called the branch multiple times as soon as we landed — they were still open for another 30 minutes, but no one answered.
      I later provided proof of the delay, but Routes refused to offer a refund, credit, or even an alternative vehicle. I was left completely stranded — alone with my baby — and they showed no empathy or effort to help.
      ******* (who I booked through) contacted the branch multiple times to advocate for us, but the manager still refused to cooperate or make any exceptions.
      Unexpected delays are part of travel. A decent company would respond with flexibility and basic compassion. Routes did not. * ******** **** ********* ** ***** **** ******** ********** **** ********* You risk being left on your own when you need help the most.

      2.5 hours waiting in line. $260 forced insurance buy (they claimed they needed to see in writing that my insurance company covers rental cars?? Even though I spoke with an agent on the phone). ****!
