      I purchased several protect-a-bad fitted sheets & pillow protectors over the past 10-12 years & some of them are now starting to disintegrate into a fine, white powder that is a nightmare to clean up. When I started to find the dust/powder on the side of my bed several months ago, I was mystified as to what it could be & where it was coming from? Did I have a bug infestation? Was it coming off my cats? Was it pollen? Was it mold? Was it being shed by my carpet or curtains? Did I have dandruff? Was it coming off my body? Was it coming off my girlfriend's body? It was driving me crazy so I started to investigate. I searched all over the room to try to find out where it was coming from. I checked my scalp every day for dandruff but there was none. I started showering twice a day in case it was coming off my body. I vacuumed, cleaned & scrubbed the entire room, wiped down my bedside tables, washed all my bedding only to see it re-appear a few days later. Next I decided to use a lint roller on every piece of clothing that I wear & every item of bedding that I use only to discover that 2 of my pillowcases & a queen sized fitted sheet were shedding a white powder. Now I'm starting to wonder if this powder is toxic? I had been breathing it in while I slept for weeks... while using a CPAP machine & was recently diagnosed with asthma. The products were obviously poorly made & inadequately tested. I contacted Sleep Country hoping they would compensate me for the loss however they told me they could not help me since they no longer carried this brand, and that my warranty had probably expired anyway.
