I was told by the Beswick estimator, the 3 branches will be cut. First one is the lowest limb growing towards house, Second one is the south branch of a V-type large limb which is also over my roof (in their quote: 1/2 of large limb above closest to house). The third one is a small diamter branch which towards my neighbor's roof. My aim is to cut the branches that are near/over my roof or my neighbor's roof. When the 3 workers from Beswick came to my house on June 8th morning, they cut wrongly the north branch, keep the south branch which extends over my roof. That is not the same as their quote described. Even though I talked to them that they did wrong, they still keep wrong doing. I would warn the customers of Beswick, get the written quote on estimation site (detailed description on which branches to cut, how may cutting branches in all, price etc.) As they could be changed in their later Email quote. Also you need to check their work on site with the detailed description on quote. Otherwise you will pay what you do not want and what you want is not done.

When I attended the site May 19, 2022 to meet with Mr. **** it was immediately apparent to me that there was a communication hurdle to overcome as English is not his primary language. I've been estimating for Beswick Tree Service for approximately 20 years, so of course this is not the first time I've encountered a language barrier. For that reason I carry a laser pointer to show where we plan to cut the tree. Mr. ****s' concern was that his large Oak tree was growing too close to his and his neighbors houses. We talked as best we could and I pointed out the 2 cuts, with the laser pointer. I never indicated a 3rd cut. One cut to "remove lowest limb growing towards houses and 1/2 of a large limb above closest to house" (Verbatim from original quote) After about 15 minutes of discussion and when I felt satisfied that we both understood the agreed upon work I left and prepared a quotation that was emailed to him for review. He accepted the quote and asked for a price reduction as he would do the cleanup which I agreed to. The crew arrived the morning of June 8th and completed the work exactly as described on the quote. Upon completion Mr. **** was clearly not satisfied. As noted the tree in question is quite large and any extra cutting would come at a great deal of extra time and effort and thus extra cost. After speaking with Mr. **** it was clear that he is not willing to pay more for the additional work he feels is required. Mr **** feels that I intentionally was out to cheat him which is not the case. I have been working at Beswick my whole life, going on 35 years now. I have many, many repeat clients because of my reputation for being honest and offering fair pricing. The job was completed as per our discussion and the quote which he reviewed and approved.

I've read the business comments. My key issue (wrong cutting the 1/2 branch of a V-type limb) is not explained. When the estimator from Beswick Tree Service came on May 19, 2022, he told me clearly to cut the South branch of the V-type limb which is obviously above closest to the house. The North branch of the limb should not be cut, because it is extended to north, away from my house. This is also stated in the written quote, "remove lowest limb growing towards houses and 1/2 of a large limb above closest to house". But in the morning of June 8th, your crew cut wrongly the north branch of the V-type limb, kept the South branch that is above closest to the house uncut. During their working period, I told them the wrong cutting. They did not reply (not because the language barrier, for I got their several other replies that morning). So the job was not completed fully as per our discussion and the quote. If the Beswick Tree Service thinks that customer should also pay for their wrong cutting in full, I can pay it. Otherwise, the Beswick Tree Service should think how many percentage responsibilities (10% more or less) they should take.

You continue to reference North and South portion to the limb in question, I never said those words. If anything I said there was an upper & lower half of the limb in question. The lower half of which was obviously closer to the house and is the portion which the crew removed. The upper half still exists above the house as as the rest of the tree but now has plenty of overhead clearance so as not to interfere with the roof as we discussed at the time of the quotation. The crew were instructed that the reason for the cutting was to provide clearance from the houses and roof, they are very experience. The removed the portion closest to your house because that was the obvious portion to remove to anyone with any experience in our industry. Its black and white. You are mistaken Mr. **** and as I can see by your response, are plainly trying to save yourself more money.

Hi, Dave in Beswick Tree Service Ltd. I really surprised that you don't recognize "keep the North(branch) and cut the South branch of the limb" that you told me at the end of your May 19th estimation visit. The same meaning is also shown in the written quote so that I accept the quote. But now your crew cut the North branch and keep the south branch. Even your crew are experience, they should cut as what we are agreed, because I need to pay what I want (also shown in the quote). They can not cut what they like to do that is against the description in the quote about the 1/2 of a large limb above closest to the house. Dave, the north and south branches of the V-type limb are on the same horizontal level, how can you and I and your crew distinguish which is lower and higher? So you and I never talked about the lower or upper branch of the V-type limb. Only you told me to cut the South and keep North of the V-type Limb, I agreed that. God in the heaven knows who is not telling the truth and fact.
Anyway, I don't want to waste more time to communicate with you. I'll give you the cheque on this Thursday morning between 10am and 11am (July 21th, 2022). Amount is $900.00+13%Tax=$1017,00. If this amount is correct, please give me your receipt at that time. Otherwise, Email me. As you know, only one cutting is correct, the other should-be-cut branch is still uncut. that is nothing to do with saving me more money.
