I contacted Nancy at Hamilton Bros and had my name removed from a joint account that was still existing between my exwife and I after I was billed for a service call that she had requested. Nancy confirmed that I was no longer on the account but over a month later I was sent an email telling me that I was back on account and that I would be responsible for any charges. My ex wife had taken a document from our ongoing separation case that says I am responsible for the expenses at the matrimonial home and Hamilton Bros took it upon themselves to determine where I would do business and who would have access to my account. I once again contacted ******** Bros and requested that I be removed from the joint account. The owner, Fred ********, told me that I would need to get a lawyers letter in order to remove me from the account. this is absolutely absurd and has cost me $600 in legal fees! I requested to be reimbursed but have received no response. I just want my costs refunded. this is not their standard policy regarding accounts and have clearly overstepped and made a decision based on their personal opinion of the situation between my ex wife and I. at very least, the are trying to force me to do business with them by making it too expensive and time consuming to close an account. Please help rectify this ridiculous situation.

    thanks,

We have made automatic Furnace Oil Fuel deliveries to the ******* residence for at least 13 years. We were not made aware that this service was to be stopped. We delivered Furnace Oil Oct 7 2022 (*** ********). There was a service call at this address on Sept 26 2022 (*** ********).

We received a letter from Mr ******* on Oct 18 2022 (*** ********) that he wanted his name removed from the account. There was a balance owing on the account which both parties are responsible for paying. We in no shape or form tell our customers that they must do business with us. Mr and Mrs ******* as mentioned have been on automatic delivery for many years and we start making our regular fill ups in the fall so that our customers do not run out of Furnace Oil when the weather is getting colder.

We removed Mr ******* from the account but he has since been put back on the account as per advice from Mr ********'s legal Council.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: they were made aware before the Oct 7 fill up. Hamilton's is admitting that they then added me back to the account without my permission and then are trying to hold me responsible.

    Sincerely,

We did receive a letter asking that Mr *******s name be removed from the account on Oct18/22. There was a balance owing on the account so that was not possible to do so. Mr ******* along with Mrs ******* are both responsible for the outstanding account.

Invoice #******* in the amount of $157.06 dated Sept 26 2022. A furnace oil delivery invoice #****** in the amount of $1237.32 dated Oct 7 2022.  These bills were owing before he asked that his name be removed. We have since seized any further furnace oil deliveries to their address. They were on an automatic delivery service and have been for many years.

    Nancy for Mr Fred H.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: it is simply not true. I had asked well before that time and they requested a letter from my lawyer, which was an additional cost to me. They then proceeded to deliver oil despite being told that my name was to be removed from the account and further more, I was in the process of obtaining a lawyer's letter ( at Hamiltons request). Hamilton bros will pay for my legal fees and remove me from their system once and for all. * ** ******* **** ********** ******** ********* ***** **** ****** ** ****** ***** *** ** ******* * ****** ******** **** ****** ********* **** ******* ***** ******** ** **********
