      **** ******* *** **** ******** ** *** **** **** **** ** the price online is not the price you pay! In addition - they tried charging my credit card twice - once when I returned the card and then made up extra invoice a month later and charged my card again without authorization!
      No detailed invoice provided explaining what the charges were for!
      I am disputing the charge!

      I rented a car from York Car Rental for 10 days in July 2023 at $1272 including insurance...more than originally quoted. I had a stone chip, unfortunately, in the windshield which should have been covered under this insurance. I was charged an additional $1500 for the windshield replacement and received no notice nor receipt and was not even aware of this until I received my credit card statement. I have asked for an actual receipt for the windshield replacement and there is no way it would be even close to this amount.       **** ***********....I rented with York at YYZ airport through an online booking as their price was cheaper than any of the other car rental companies. During pick up the front counter man was very rude, eating while setting me up with my rental. He presented me with the contract to sign and the price increased by 125%. ******, just because you book and pay fully online, does not mean that's it. The booking said unlimited mileage, but apparently that's not for Ontario residents???       ****! Charge you a deposit, initiate the refund and then reverse the refund after you receive your receipt. Say there is a “computer glitch” and then never refund it. Car was dirty, out of washer fluid and needed an oil change. They charge you a “$30 after your fee” to return before 9 am - which wasn’t previously disclosed, then tack on another $7 for “tax”.

      **** ***** ** * ******** ***** ******* customers will reserve a rental because of cheap prices *** ******* **** *** *** **** *** ******** ******* ** *** ***** ******* **** ** ** ****** ****** *** ******* ******* ** ****** **** *** ********* ********** *** they apparently operate: charge low prices, and add hidden fees at the moment of returning the rental car.
      in my case, we rented a car and used for 3 days. upon returning, they claimed there was "excessive hair and dirt" in the car. They sent pictures as "proof" after being contacted by email, which showed literally 2 white hairs in the seat, which was probably stuck to our clothing (like in any normal pet owner). we were charged close to $400 for cleanup.
      in summary, do not rent from this place.

Mileage was listed as unlimited under their rules and restrictions, however, you have to click on the other tab to find out that it's only 200 km per day for local drivers. I advised the manager that I would be taking the vehicle out of the province from ON to QC. My original bill was $60.44. They held $1000 on my credit card. They returned my $1000 on hold but then charged my credit card over $1200 for charges that didn't even apply to me.       This is a he say she say situation. Just because your agent said I wasn't truthful, that makes him right and me wrong? I don't think so. I have screen shots from my booking which clearly stated that I had unlimited kms for my booking. Please let me know where I can send you my proofs. Also, your agent didn't explain anything in detail so what exactly did I acknowledge other than my original charges of $60.44? I am not the first person to accuse your company of fraudulent charges. You can search your reviews online and see how many people were fraudulently charged by the same location. The common denominator is your agent, not the customer.

      They operate under 6 different names, oneSwitch, York, SurPrice, Easirent & few others with MO of scamming customer with undisclosed fees. The "office" at Miami is a small shack with 3 counters, agents that are rude & English isn't the primary language. The "office" is so small that the line start outside the door & you walk into the office when an agent is ready. Agents usually spend about 30 mts with a customer due to arguments about the undisclosed fees & declaration form for your car insurance. They slap a $20/day as transfer fee just for using your insurance, they also put a large dollars amount hold on your credit card (1-2k). After your paperwork is done, you have to wait another 10-15 minutes to get the car ready.
      My reservation was $186, final bill was for $337 with $80 for using my own insurance. The agent mentioned that it's disclosed in the terms and conditions during reservation which was not accurate. When I questioned, he flipped through a document he had on his side & could not find it. His way of confirming was by asking another agent & rudely stating that 'You should have read the terms & conditions before making the reservation'. He then proceeded to throw the credit card & Driver's license back to me & said that he will not rent the car since I refused to pay the fee. All numbers listed for customer service are international (Brazil).
      The next day, I contacted the customer service via email & the response I got was an attached document that I had never seen before. They claimed this to be the terms and conditions & had highlighted a section detailing the $20/per day fee. After several back and forth, they offered to give me a 50% discount on the fee & had the audacity to say "your reservation was scheduled to be picked up at 9:30 p.m. December 29, but you arrived around 10:40 p.m., we still attending your service without any extra charge for a subject to availability, even though you were late".

      They get you a few KM's away from the airport to pick up the car and then hold you ransom for additional insurance coverage at $40/day.
      I was concerned with their proof of insurance requirements after I received my booking confirmation so I called in advance of my trip for clarification on what was required. Nobody called me back.
      When I arrived I provided my proof of full auto coverage as outlined on their site and a credit card with full travel coverage. I was told that was insufficient and, at 8pm on a Sunday, I was told the only coverage they would accept is to have my personal insurance broker send them a full insurance policy for review. They were obviously closed and unavailable. I have also rented dozens of cars and never had to do this!!
      When I asked about my credit card, the attendant told me he already looked it up and it didn't provide coverage. **** ** * ****  When i asked to speak with a manger I was told that was impossible and I would have to wait until the next day. They then refused to rent me a car. ***** **** ******* ** *** *****
      I rented from ********** the next day and was driving out the door in less than 5 minutes without and hassle about insurance!

      After checking this, you did not have proof of the declaration page. Please note that renter must have insurance to rent a car from our branches and decline CDW. Regarding the mileage restrictions: Local Traveller Restrictions
      Local Renters (Ontario Residence) are limited to 200kms/day, 1400kms/week, 3000kms/month, or a maximum of 3000kms per rental. The additional kilometer is charged at $0.50 per kilometer driven during the entire rental over the allowance.

      I have to put one star as they did provide the vehicle. *** ** *** **** **** **** *******. Booked through ********* and reserved vehicle with *******. Went to pickup location and find that it is York acting for *******. Go to sign paperwork and when I decline insurance they tell me there is a 11.99 charge per day to decline their insurance and transfer to me. No way to refuse so I had to pay it. Their reservation info states purchasing insurance may be required. Not you will have to pay to decline insurance. Of course we paid the higher price as there were 6 of us needing the van and last minute rentals are next to impossible. I rented through ********** in Ontario before and was sent the toll charges to pay separately, directly to me. I was waiting on this when I noticed a charge on my credit card from York. Checked email and they had sent an updated receipt (the original I had to request numerous times on pickup), anyway the toll charges were on the receipt and the email asked to pay asap. Since the toll charges were 59.40 and the charge on my credit card was 24.92 I have been trying to call these people since 25Aug22. I left numerous voicemails for a callback, but yesterday I finally got through to a person. They explained they charge a $50 service fee to pay tolls. But I was charge 65.32 above the toll charges. he said my reservation stated it, I asked to tell me where as I have my reservation and no costs are listed, just generic statements about you may have fees. He asked me to hold and then hung up on me. **** ******* ********** ***** ** ****** **** **** **** ** *** * ******* *** **** **** **** **** ****** **** **** ****** ******** **** ***** ***** **** **** ******* ********** ******* ** ****. I will always deal directly with rental companies from now on and will stick with known companies.

In regards to the toll, This is a standard fee and it is applicable when renter uses tolls/citation. Please note there is no refund due as this was explained to the renter in signed rental agreement.
