Business owner ************ was canvassing our quiet neighbourhood while supposedly working nearby. He appeared very pleasant and professional. Presented as an arborist, insured. We asked about a quote for trimming our cedar ******. While he was here he pointed out our large Maple which is in rough shape and had a brace. He provided a quote for the tree as well. The ****** are tall and the more expensive part of the job. The tree was a $1600 quote if done at the same time as the ******.He told us he usually asks for half up front and half at the end of the job. He came quickly to start the job and gain our trust and got his deposit . Once money received communication was only one way with me reaching out to him. He did come back to do some of the tree clean up on one day but after that day kept promising days but never came back. He left 1/3 of the tree down in the backyard as per attached picture and he didnt trim the ******.When he did cut the tree down it was a large maple that was down in 15 min in one piece...he did not use ropes or helmet and he speared our ground in a few spots... something an aborist would not do.When i reach out about returning to finish the work he insults me saying I need a hobby and I need to be patient. The tree came down on March 16. Finially mid May I paid a certified arborist to clean up the rest of the tree and that arborist is going to trim the ******. While looking around online I notice this is a pattern as he has very similar reviews on Yelp and ****** as well as under a previous business as well as identified on reddit. I see he is heavily marketing self on kijiji so hoping this complaint can raise awareness and be documented.

Wednesday March 27, 2024 - *** from Canadian Lumberjack responds to my initial text inquiring to have a tree removed. He forwarded a price and the details of what that would include (screenshot attached-Quote details). Saturday March 30, 2024 - *** arrived to remove the tree. He was unable to cut the remaining wood into manageable pieces for firewood as stated in the quote and when on site he verbally agreed to come back and remove the remaining wood since he was unable to cut it into pieces at the time. Friday April 12, 2024 - contacted *** by email advising the wood was still at the front of the house.Sunday April 14, 2024 - *** responds he will send someone out.Thursday April 18, 2024 - I text *** to follow-up since the wood remains in front my house. He responds 45min later stating he will make arrangements.Saturday April 20, 2024 - I text *** to advise the wood is still here. He responds by phone and asks for me to take pictures so he can post them on ****** in hopes people will pick up the wood and he will come to remove what's left over the weekend, most likely by the end of that day (Saturday). Sunday April 21, 2024 - I text *** to ask if he is still planning to complete the work by the end of the weekend? No response from *** and no contact from him yet at the time of this writing.Monday April 22, 2024 - I called and emailed the main email and number on the website (canadianlumberjack.ca) to someone named ****. No response.
