    I made a purchase on Aug 10 2024 using my credit card. I requested a refund on Aug 27 2024. The merchant asked to input my credit card information by hand, stating the chip reader didnt work properly. I was given a receipt from the handheld terminal which shows the refund was approved. However, the refund was never processed to my credit card account. When I brought the issue up with the merchant, they refused to help me and will not provide proof on their end that they completed the transaction properly. My credit card company has no record of the refund being assigned to my account and referred me back to the merchant. The merchant again refused to provide assistance, became argumentative, and hung up on me. I believe this merchant is scamming clients and putting the blame on the credit card company. There have been many comments made in online forums that this merchant has unethical practices. Please help me get my $820 back!

    This is a copy/paste from what ****** posted as a review which is quite different from what he is stating in this complaint: 

     

    Went there on a Saturday eod for an eye exam was told I needed eye surgery for new eye lense and it would take months to see surgeon etc..
    So I have him place an order for some glasses so Id have something in the meanwhile to see. $820.00 they cost me.
    Monday morning the eye surgeon office calls me ask me to come in and I find out they can do surgery in 2 weeks. So I call Green eyes a couple of times but keep getting voicemail. So I leave a message please cancel prescription Im getting the surgery. They dont call back but I do manage to speak to someone on the Friday and she says yes I got message Monday but forgot to cancel order, all is good please come back to get refund.
    But Im working in ******* so I have my wife go. The son of the owner refunds my ***** But the Son later speaks with Owner and he reversed the refund.

    So I just went to back see him myself. And says I needed to cancel the day of the order which would have been after 4:55 pm on a Saturday is the time stamp on receipt 5 min before close. That Monday was too late to cancel. Considering that they are the one who told me it be months to see the surgeon I think Monday was ok. And it takes weeks to get the glasses not like they were made that day.

     

    This was our reply to him: 

    Hi ******, you came in for an eye exam Aug 10th and purchased a pair of glasses. You came back a week later on Aug 17th asking for a refund and to not make the glasses since youll have a surgery and than do another eye exam but the glasses were already sent to the lab and ready. We also have multiple signs in the store saying that we dont do refunds unless its something that went wrong on our side. I also gave you another option and said that Ill pay for your next eye exam and lenses to make you happy, so Im not sure why you say we shouldnt be trusted ?

     

    *** refunds are not permitted at the store, 7 days later was already too late, glasses were already ordered*** We also offered a free eye exam and new lenses for next purchase as a compensation as we know that after his eye surgery, his lenses will need to be changed and we understand that he had just paid a big amount for the ready ones.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    Regardless of other discussions and offers for compensation, the issue at hand is clear: These receipts clearly show the initial purchase and one for the refund. How can the business claim they dont offer refunds yet they gave me a receipt showing a refund? This is why they cant be trusted to behave honestly. My complaint is that the business never submitted the refund to the credit card company after giving me the receipt (therefore tricking me into thinking it had been done)  so this amount was never applied as a credit to my credit card.

    I simply want them to contact the credit card company To authorize the credit to my **** account.

    May 25 2023 Visited Green Eyes Optical for the first time. Saw optometrist, selected two pair of glasses for which I paid $1123. One purple frame, one black frame ( which Ive not worn once)Received glasses about 10 days later and were fitted. My vision was not perfect up close but the distance was worse. Very blurry. I was told to wear them every day all day and that my eyes would adjust. I did as told even after developing headaches. I called them back and was told to come in the following Thursday to see ***************** again. When I went back, ***************** said the prescription wasnt right, he would correct it and tell the owner it was his fault so I wouldnt have to pay for the correction. This was about 4 to five weeks after first receiving them. Waited another ***** days for corrected glasses Again the fitting. This time up close felt right but distance was still blurry. Again the same story. Y eyes will adjust. So I was happy. A month later still cant see in the distance, blurry, Month two my vision is getting worse for distance, then I start to see double. Then With or without my glasses Im seeing double anything past 10 or so feet now Im panicking thinking I may have a brain tumour. By November I Decided to get a second opinion. This Dr fixed my problems although it took until very recently to eliminate the double vision. The manage/owner at Green Eyes Optical was furious that I got a second opinion, berated me and e en telephoned the other Optometrist to berate them as I am his customer! I have been denied refund. Even though one pair was never worn. Im willing to return the glasses he can re sale the frames. My husband and I both have tried talking to this man but hes a bully claims to know the law and erases us. We. Red your help please and thank you. *******************************

    Refuses to hand over sons eye exam record after billing OHIP, verbally abused the receptionist at ***************** office, verbally abused myself and father of my son
